We spent one night at the hotel whilst visiting a show in central London. The location was good for us - near to Victorai Coach station. The staff were very friendly and helpful - booked a taxi for us. The room was compact but adequate and was very clean. Our nights sleep was interupted by traffic noise. This was partly... More

Checked into this hotel on Friday afternoon. It immediately struck me as being very clean but very cramped. Lugging the luggages up the stairs after a long train trip was not exactly exciting, either. Room and bathroom were both spotless. The only issue was the size of the room itself. Felt rather claustrophobic. Considering that we were on the first... More

This hotel is perfectly located to discover the city of London. Nice and clean rooms in a quiet street. No elevator available. Possibility to leave your luggage upon eraly arrival or late departure. Friendly and helpful hotel staff. Breakfast room in the basement. As with most of those hotels space is limited in the breakfast room. Therfore it is not... More

Second visit - first one in 2008. Location is wonderful, 10 minutes to Victoria Station, 10 minutes to the Thames. If you are looking for luxury, this is not your hotel. However, if you want a clean, well run, efficient hotel with more than adequate rooms, with nice bathroom facilities, a wonderful breakfast, and more than reasonable rates, then do... More

We stayed for 5 nights and loved it. The staff was very friendly from checkin until checkout. The free breakfast in the morning was perfect. The location was very central. We found new restaurants everyday by walking within 10 minutes from the hotel like Gastronomica, El Sola Mio, the Warwick. The buses are easy to get on from here. The... More

Spent 3 nights in London at the Melbourne Hotel beginning of July when unfortunately it got really hot. The room overlooked the garden and a ventilator was given which made our stay very comfortable. The hotel was quiet and very clean. Both Beds were confortable although the mattress protectors were not staying in place but the room was made every... More

Friendly and welcoming staff. Clean and today room. Towels etc. tea/coffee, hairdryer included. Luckily had pricey bathroom. Shower sufficiently fast and hot. Happy to stay again. Noisy outside but hey that's London for you. Breakfast included. Easy to find. Close to theatres which was perfect for us.

My family and I (3 of us) stayed at the Melbourne House Hotel as our last night in England on holiday (mid-June). A gentleman name John was working at the time and he was very helpful in many, many ways which I will mention later. All in all we found the hotel to be clean, spacious enough for our needs,... Booked by my wife as part of a surprise weekend away I was delighted to be staying somewhere so convenient for Victoria and our train to and from Gatwick (10mins walk). The staff were extremely accommodating, allowing us to drop our bags at 10am, somewhat before we were able to check in, and when we got the keys we were... More

Staying in Pimlico

Neighbourhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighbourhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
