Toilet seats not fitted and toilet/bathroom doors that don't lock. Uninviting cooked breakfast on what appeared to be unheated Hot Plates. Much room for improvement. The then price, and location, on balance, were good.
Stayed at Arran House Hotel on a overnight trip to London. Allocated top floor room for four - double and two singles. Beds good and bedding clean. Room looked like it could have done with a deeper clean but not horrendous

I found the room a bit grubby. Many of the fittings were cracked / loose or broken but the sort of things that were poor maintenance rather than poor housekeeping. It isn't good value for a London stay, there are many as bad or better for less and many better for the same kind of rates. I didn't get charged twice but I pre booked through a travel site so no-one else got my payment details.

I arrived yesterday with a disabled child and was offered a ground floor room immediately although there are three small steps outside I managed to get her in easily but there is a flight of stairs to breakfast
