Well I liked, I was expecting something different but was ok, room very small, staff friendly and the pub downstairs look to have a nice ambient, I was so tired I didn't had the opportunity to check during the night. The breakfast is something need to improve, but for that's I was looking to spend was really good.

We stayed one night in Portobello Gold at Easter. The double room was cheap, ca 80 GBP including simple but adequate breakfast. Since the reviews of the hotel were very mixed, I was not sure what to expect exactly. Unfortunately we ended up being not so enthusiastic - very small room, amazingly compact bathroom, clean sheets and towels but shabby...

Dirty room, shower wouldnt drain away for at least 20 mins and smelt like a drain. Very sparse choice of breakfast. Blinds broken and boiler noise kept us awake all night. Due to shower not draining could not use the loo as it is in the shower! Had to go down 3 flights of stairs to use the pub loo

Gold it's not. My visit to London was last minute, as was the booking here by my company. Arrived tired and late, otherwise I would have left for alternative accommodation. Had I have been with my wife, it would have definitely been " exit stage left", immediately ! I have written damning reviews before and TripAdvisor have refused to submit...

Stayed here for a week with a friend. The location was perfect, such a nice neighbourhood. The room was quite small, but because we had a discount on the price it was okay. The breakfast downstairs was fine, because we didn't have to pay extra. Would probably come back for another city trip.

Enjoyed my stay at the Gold in the heart of Portobello. Lots of atmosphere with the bustling market on the doorstep. The room was quite basic but clean and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was simple but just what I wanted and I liked the garden atmosphere. I'll certainly be booking again.

.The Potobello Gold was situated in a great part of London for me as I was there whilst my husband went on a course for two days. Within easy walking distance of Kensington Gardens/Palace and Hyde Park. One of the few choices of accommodation that is dog friendly but rooms are very small and not somewhere other then a place...

Great little place, centre of Notting Hill. There is a pub under the hotel, breakfast ok. I have chosen this property for the price. The owner is really nice, very smiley. Parking is not what the booking page says, there was not much help to find a place.

My husband and I stayed here for one night and loved it. Yes it's shabby chic but that's art of the charm things are a little jaded and worn but again it's a nice bohemian place . Very authentic and we stayed in honeymoon suite. Loved the large room and the central location. Nottinghill was the place I was born...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
