Having read the reviews before visiting, had high hopes and Ace Hotel did not fall from my expectations Pro: Sweetest staff I could have ever ask for, credits to the team Shoreditch is an interesting district Room was spacious for London (we booked the double double) Well thought room decor that was useful and handy Surprising quiet when considering the...

Fun hotel, but VERY loud at night. The rooms are nice, but lack storage. We were there for a week and had to mostly live out of our suitcases (no dresser, VERY small closet; only a few plastic bins for storage). Very friendly and helpful staff. Lobby bar is great as well. If you are going to London to go...

Shoredich is amazing. Hipster, located by man great restaurants, easy access to Liverpool Street tube and very hip, up and coming area for the last several years. The hotel is a "scene" in the lobby at night with the hipsters. Rooms are basic. Reminds me of a trendy dorm room. Staff was extremely nice. No one is in a hurry...

I stayed here for two nights on a business trip and the room was dark and quiet which was good but not great for natural light or being able to work in the room. The room itself was big, well decorated but it had a few things that made it feel quite cheap which was disappointing. And the breakfast on...

Lovely place to stay at the heart of the Shoreditch scene and a walking distance from Brick Lane. Fantastic location yet somehow the hotel still felt cloistered and tucked away from the usual London mayhem. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, advising the best restaurants to eat at. What a wonderful warm, friendly and exceptionally professional welcome we received...

Not a 5 start hotel, a three star hotel at best. Cool lobby with great crowds and vibes. Lousy service. Tiny rooms with dorm room style (typical of ace). Problem(s) here--- Didn't recognize or honor the room nights reserved, even with confirmations in hand, so I was off a night. Ruined wheels on my roller bag when in storage by...

I chose ACE because it was near Islington, where a friend lives. I might not otherwise have been there, as a 69 year old woman accustomed to more staid, standard and luxurious accommodations. But this was so cool and great fun--the scene is young and lively, the staff are quite sweet, the restaurant is good, the bar is clearly the...

yes, shorditch is hipsterhome and if that is a problem for you then you should book in a different area! ace is very hip and still feels extremely homy. staff is always available and never over the top: looks can be deceiving! overall: if you don't mind an overcrowded lobby at night, want a warm and relaxed styled room then...

Ideal place for hipsters! I loved the hotel: spacious room with comfy bed, great food (choose the blueberry pancakes for breakfast, you won't regret), friendly staff ... When I'm in London again, I'll come back to this hotel for sure.

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighbourhood Profile
Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to the Ace Hotel London Shoreditch, a 5 star property in the historic Shoreditch neighbourhood, a hub for galleries, theaters and fashion, home of the Brick Lane market and a canvas for street artists from around the world. It’s a neighborhood with a long history of culture and industry — the first district where plays were performed in London, banned at that time in the center city, and later a center of in textile and furniture manufacture.Today’s Shoreditch is a leader in the arts, design, cuisine, culture and technology — an outpost in the global community of ideas. The design at Ace Hotel London hints at a wide range of influences from UK punk to the bold graphic style of the early 20th century Vorticist movement, to the clean Modernism of the Bauhaus. All rooms have vintage furniture, original artwork, in-room safe and flatscreen TV with Ace video-on-demand and Revo radios with Ace-curated radio stations, plus a well-stocked mini-bar and complimentary WiFI. Some rooms have turntables and a selection of vinyl and acoustic guitars.Easy access to Moorgate, Finsbury Square and Liverpool Street. Destination restaurant Hoi Polloi is by David Waddington and Pablo Flack who are restaurateurs behind Bistrotheque and Shrimpy’s. Gym is open 24 hours; the Hotel also features a Basement Bar with live gigs and DJ sets, a lobby bar, The Bulldog Edition - a coffee shop in partnership with Square Mile Coffee Roasters, an exhibition gallery, on-site juice bar, a flower shop, and 24 hours room service. ... more   less
