Overall a pleasant stay. Location was great - close to Paddington station and about half hour walk to Buckingham palace on a nice day. Plenty of restaurants and take away options nearby. Service friendly in the family run hotel. Rooms small but well equipped (tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer in the dresser drawer, ensuite). Heating worked well. If you are...

If you are a family and looking to book this hotel then I would avoid it and look else where. We booked this hotel for a overnight stay, we booked a FAMILY room that consisted of a double bed and two singles. We have 2 children and wanted the children in our bedroom with us, on arrival at the hotel...

Stayed here for a few days. Great location near tube and buses and lots of restaurants. Room very nice but very large step to bathroom, was told when booked was garden view which I didn't get it was a brick wall. Room needed doing up, had to ask for more towels and pillows which did not go down well. Breakfast...

Stayed here with 2 friends after booking fairly last minute. Good location but fairly pricey for what we got. Room very dilapidated, wallpaper peeling off the wall. Loud trains that literally shook the room every 5 minutes. Located next to the dining room so we were woken up at 7am on the Sunday morning by the kitchen staff. Very small...

I have just returned from a two night stay at the Avon and found it very accommodating. The reception staff were friendly, efficient and polite. Yes, they did ask for the card I used for booking and this, I would suggest, is quite normal (Jeanette B below). Breakfasts (eggs on the first morning and full English the second) were fine...

I stayed in this hotel for one night because of its good location however, I will never go back again! Very rude receptionists who are unorganised and have no clue where your reservation confirmation is. When I asked a staff member kindly if he could help me carry my suitcase downstairs before checkout, he started shouting at me and didn't...

If booking this hotel for someone else then don't bother as you get hassled from a very rude receptionist who makes you email proof of ID and a copy of your card you booked on. When you stress you are not happy with that she shouts at you and is also abrupt and rude to the guest you have booked...

As pointed out by many fellow travelers, location, breakfast and price are all on the plus side. I haven't seen the other rooms, but the single room I got at ground floor level was very small and extremely noisy because of the underground tube and toilets being flushed just above my head.
