Paid £60/night for 2 nights looking for a mix of location and character. The location was awesome, we like sleeping with the windows open and there is absolutely no noise at night (well maybe the odd car passing but that's like 1 an hour). Outside it looks like a lovely character building in the typical Victorian London style. Inside it... More

This hotel has a wonderful location in a beautiful Notting Hill neighbourhood. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the tube (you are 10 mins from the centre of London on tube) and 10 minutes from Portobello Market. The staff are really lovely and helpful, the breakfast is basic but what we needed and the bedrooms are relatively small but... More

Tiny room, but hey, we were only there to sleep, as we were in town for one night for a show. We paid £90 for a week night) Very basic breakfast. No tea available, just filter coffee. Security, and Fire Security do not seem to be very high on their agenda! No escape plan in room, and Fire doors wedged... More

this hotel was booked for 2 nights for a trip to London. The hotel itself is in a very good position just minutes walk from Notting Hill tube station. Our room was situated on the top floor and would have been inaccessible for anyone that is not fit as it was a steep climb up 6 flights of stairs. The... More

We arrived 30 minutes early on a Saturday morning for a 1 night stay only to be told we'd have to wait an hour before we could check in. My husband queried this versus our booking information and we are given a basement room within 10 mins. A similar thing happened to our friends who arrived an hour or so... More

This place exceeded our expectations in every way. We booked a family room sleeping 5 (hard to find good accommodation at a good price anywhere!) and for the price didn't really have high hopes. The Hotel is in a quiet street just a short stroll from either Notting Hill Gate, Queensway or Bayswater tube stations (fantastic location!). When we checked... More

Stayed here for 3 nights while they were redecorating. Rooms are very clean but basic. There is a lot of complaints on here about the breakfast but I thought it was fine, there is a choice of cereals, toast with jam, marmalade, ham and cheese, fruit juices, coffee and croissants. The location is brilliant a few minute walk to the... More

+Excellent location - just a couple of blocks to the Knotting Hill underground station and the Portobello Market; a few steps to a laundromat and delicious coffee shop - we enjoyed coffee while washing clothes:) Safe neighborhood. We enjoyed watching some children walking to school in their hats and blazers - so London. The staff was pleasant and accommodating as... More

The Blue Bells in London's Notting Hill district is a pleasant hotel in a good location, which, as an added bonus, is fairly cheap and still clean, with friendly staff and a surprisingly good breakfast. In recent years the walls inside and the facade have been painted and now they are refurbishing the hotel according to the original design. The... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
