It's not a hotel so don't expect hotel accommodations. We were with a group of scouts. We had easy access to public transit as well as local attractions. It is old and the floors are squeaky and the rooms were small but having affordable accommodations that included linens, a kitchen, and laundry meant we could travel lighter and spend our...

If you stayed in student accommodation before I'm sure like me you'll know it's basic and clean and does the job. This place however is dirty, I'll spare you the adjectives, the beds were dusty and horrible the carpet filthy, the floors creaked everywhere you walked, sink filthy, The shared kitchen horrible etc.. I'll sum this place up as if...

Don't expect the Ritz when you stay here because you will be sorely disappointed. It's old, It's worn but it's in a fantastic area. It only takes about 5 minutes to walk to Buckingham Palace and another five to Picadilly. Close to Victoria railway station and bus number 11 which goes to Trafalgar square, fleet Street, the theatre district and...

It's the most hideous place I ever stayed in. The single room is befitting for dwarfs probably. The curtains and bed were full of dust and I could feel that the room has not been cleaned for ages. Most of the things weren't working, e.g., elevator, bathrooms. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!

I travelled to London on a school trip in June of 2015. We stayed at Wigram House and were sad to leave. The rooms were clean and my twin room, shared with another student, was plenty room enough for us both. The view from our 6th floor room was spectacular as we were at the front of the building. Another...

We stayed here for a family visit to the city and this is a great way to visit London which is far cheaper than hotels. We had two twin rooms which were very clean with shared kitchen and several bathrooms on the floor. The rooms are basic which didn't bother us because we were out all day visiting the sights....

I brought 26 paramedic students from Australia to complete a clinical placement for almost one month with the London Ambulance Service. We all stayed at Wigram House due to its central location to public transport and the tourist sites, but importantly because it was a great value. The rooms were as expected, basic but clean and comfortable university accommodation. The...

Excellent location right off Victoria Street, 1' walk to Westminster Cathedral in quiet neighbourhood. Victoria underground, railway station and bus stations just over 5' walk away. Various fast food restaurants nearby: Pret á Manger, Mc Donalds, Itsu, ... Sainsbury's and Waitrose supermarkets --for the selfcatering kitchen-- very close by. Shopping centres and theatres minutes away. Shared toilets, showers and acceptably...

My 17yo daughter and I stayed in Wigram House for four nights in August 2015. I was looking for a cheap place to lay our heads at the end of each busy sightseeing day and that's just what we got. Location couldn't be better - just a 5 min walk from Victoria Station! Such a central location is handy because...

You can't beat the price for the location. Expect super basic accomodations. You get a towel and a bar of soap. The shared shower is tiny, has little water pressure and no place to put your clothes while you shower. No A/C, no fan, just an opened window. Super tiny room... two beds, a desk, a sink and small closet....

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
