My sister and I took my mother to London for her 90th birthday as she had never been to the Royal Albert Hall. The Sumner was ideal for us due to its central location in a quiet back street in a very nice area. The hotel was small and very comfortable. The rooms were spacious and interesting. There is a... This is a very comfortable hotel in an excellent location. The reception area is very modern and tranquil with a good range of books, magazines and newspapers to read. Our room was very spacious and well appointed - we could not have asked for more. Although tea and coffee making facilities are not available in the rooms, drinks are available... More

Stayed one night Looks ok when entering. There is a nice area to relax near receptions area. When I entered the room I immediately noticed that the bed linen appeared not to be freshly washed. There were some hairs on it and when I opened it there were dirty spots on the matras linen. The TV remote control was really... More

Picked this hotel at random as we wanted a hotel near Oxford Street and Hyde Park. It is definitely a boutique hotel with only 8 bedrooms. Our room was very well appointed and although it it didn't have a bath the shower was very good. Two minor complaints. Firstly there is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but you... More

We stayed for 1 night as we had a conference in London. It was perfect, room was clean, good beds, quiet even though it was at the street. Breakfast was fine! Subway was close but we chose to walk as the weather was perfect. Nice staff, very helpful.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
