We booked the suites as it is within walking distance of the Royal Albert Hall. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Cannot comment on the breakfast facilities as we used the kitchenette facility (Waitrose supermarket very near). Suites are near to tube station, several museums and Kensington park.

Spent 5 days in a suite at this terrific hotel. The room was modern, clean and quiet, bed was comfortable and the full kitchen included a clothes washer/dryer. Bath was large, clean and had a great shower with thick towels. The staff was always helpful. I was also pleasantly surprised by the variety offered at breakfast (worth the 10 pounds...

If you intend to visit the major London museums such as the Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert, the Science Museum, Kensington Palace, etc. then you couldn't pick a better location. All the suites in this hotel are equipped with ample kitchen facilities (though oddly enough there's a vegetable peeler but not a corkscrew!), a clothes washer and iron...

This was the second stay in his hotel, previously on the ground floor room was really spacious and clean. This time I stayed at a second floor room which was below my expectation. First of all, there're steps from elevator to my room, so a bit problem if you have many luggage. Second, the room is not well maintained, very...

We stayed overnight. The apartment was pleasant and perfect for the Natural history, Science and V&A museums. Disappointed not to be able to go up to the room and freshen up as the check in is from 4pm.

Booked Executive Studio and first disappointment was size - definitely smaller than advertised 40 sq m. As we were in a hurry we did not quibble, and only when we came back later in the evening did I realise that there was no dressing table (or indeed desk, should we have needed one). In the morning I fully realised how...

I've stayed in many Fraser Suites throughout Asia and Europe. I have to say that this was the most cramped and "old" Fraser ever. That said, the location is so good that it trumps the "old". The Gloucester underground station is about a block away, and the bus stops half a block away. It really is an ideal location to...

The location is fabulous...steps to the subway, museums and Harrods. The rooms have kitchens and the gym is great. However, I find the staff unhelpful and unfriendly. I've stayed here twice now. Both times I have booked a room with a tub. Last spring, when given a room without a tub, I presented my confirmation and was given a room...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
