The good news: We only had to kill ONE cockroach. The Internet worked occasionally. The TV worked - at least a few of the channels. There was a bath tub (there was no plug, so effectively it was a shower. Hotel did not fix when asked to do so). 20 years ago, it might have had some sort of jacuzzi...

The place was filthy; dust balls covered the floor; second bed was not usable so slept on the couch; mold in the shower; shower head did not work and the repair man never returned with the part he said he needed; could not open the windows because the smokers area was located just blow in the front of the building;...

Wow where to start. Firstly it's not at Hyde park it's in Bayswater and not a nice part seems like council flats around it. Lots of rubbish all over the steer. Receptionist seemed like she hated her job and no personality or greeting at all. The room was nothing like there website I've stayed in hostels better than this. We...

From the outside the hotel looked lovely, the door was secure with buzzer entry but it's not suitable for disabled guests as there's steps. The staff upon check in were unwelcoming and abrupt, check in was very slow and they didn't seem to know what they were doing? I was also asked for photo ID to check in which I've...

Very basic to say the least, bathroom was across the landing. Directions awful, took ages to find. TV did not work all weekend, nobody responded to calls or texts. The only good thing was the tiny fridge which actually did work. And there were no smoke alarms anywhere, so if you want to smoke in your room then this is...

Booked 2 nights here and after seeing it on the website it looked really nice and at almost £200 a night we were expecting something a lot better than what we got. I booked a 1 bedroom Superior Suite and it should have been listed as a basement 1 box room apartment ! There was nothing 'Superior' about this place....

Rough....we were so desperate for accomodation that we had to stay here overnight, otherwise, we would have asked for our money back... Bad decor, bad smell, bad everything..afraid to sleep in this place for fear someone would break in..cannot wait to leave and get home...worst place I've ever stayed in and the most ive ever spent on one nights accommodation....

Smelled like raw sausage meat. Basic but fantastic location. Hyde Park entrance at the end of the road. Lots of traffic noise. Sensor light going on and off all night. Very noisy in morning with bins being emptied.

The very best thing I can say about the apartment is that it was reasonably priced and acceptably clean. Many windows didn't close properly, a number of lights didn't work, and there were unfinished floor board edges on stairs and popped up nails just inviting foot injuries. The bath was the worst - mold the n caulking, the toilet ran...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
