By American standards 100 pounds or $160 a night the price is outrageous By British standards the price appeared to be quite normal, even inexpensive for Central London. The room was small, the en suite bathroom was tiny. My husband complained that he could not sit on the toilet without his knees hitting the wall. However, this appears to be...

Really a perfect location to get to from the airport, close to a convenient subway stop. Restaurants around, nice area to walk in, not expensive. I got a room with no WC or shower, but the WC was very convenient and the showers nice and clean. The people were nice and helpful. I needed to get online and sort out...

We loved our stay at the Celtic. Of course the location is fantastic as so many have said before. Let me add, though, that this is the easiest transfer ever for tired international travelers. From Heathrow, we slogged onto the tube (the less expensive non-express train) and arrived at Russell Square with no fuss or hassles. Out of the station,...

Bloomsbury is an expensive area to lodge in, but we enjoyed the convenient location on fairly quiet Guilford St. just a block from the Russell Square Underground station. The room was clean and comfortable, and the window could be opened. It contained a wash basin and a shower, but the shared toilet was in the hall above. The cost was...

We needed a room for 1 night before flying home out of Heathrow. I wanted to be within walking distance of the British Museum so the Celtic Hotel worked well for us. It is an older hotel without an elevator and was filled with a very pleasant group of college students from the States. The price is right. Very generous...

We spent 5 nights at the Celtic, and were very pleased. The breakfast was cooked to order, there was enough variety to change off every day. Of course the rooms are simply furnished, but everything was as clean as can be. The staff couldn't be nicer. A pleasant 3 minute walk to the Russell Square tube, maybe a 10 minute...

We stayed for one night at the beginning of March 2012 and found the staff very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is in a very convenient location next to Russell Square and just a minute's walk to Russell Square Tube station. In fact, we walked to the hotel from St Pancras (20 minutes). There are many pubs and restaurants nearby,...

I've been staying with the Marazzi's on every stay in London for the past 12 years. The hotel is very clean, is located in possibly the best location in central London (safe/quite/literally 60 seconds from the Piccadilly Line tube at Russell Square). The staff are very very helpful and its probably the best buy in London. I can stay here...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
