My Husband and I were made very welcome at this hotel for a few days sightseeing in Norwich. All staff we encountered were polite and helpful. We had inclusive breakfast which was excellent, lots of choice for all and well cooked. Our room was spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable and bathroom with big fluffy towels and lots of hot water. The icing on the cake was the Leisure centre which was free of charge as a guest. I used the lovely warm pool several times while my husband enjoyed the gym and sauna. We will definitely stay again as we so enjoyed Norfolk we want to return and explore further afield.

Just had a really nice 2 day stay at this hotel. We've been here before but its been refurbed since last time and the decor is now a modern grey. Check in was speedy and the room was ready early as we had requested. We had an executive room which we found clean and comfortable. Extra pillows had been left as requested. Bathrooms have been changed and now only have a shower rather than the bath/shower combo they used to have. Toiletries were provided along with liquid soap for hand washing which I prefer. Both bed and sofa pull out were comfortable for sleeping and TV service was fine. Wifi worked well, a necessity when travelling with a teenager who can't be unplugged from the net !! The breakfast was fine with plenty of choice including gluten free options. I liked how the bar area had been changed since last time I visited and had a casual vibe. We didn't need a evening meal which the hotel offered but we did need a snack and shared a pizza twice which tasted much better than I expected. I would definitely order it again. We used the bar area to relax in the evening following a busy day. We also used the hotel pool which is lovely and warm and can accommodate lane swimming and more relaxed swimming with kids. The best bit about his hotel was the staff, everyone we came into contact with were friendly and accommodating. This made for a relaxed stay which we really needed. The hotel is very '70s' in terms of architecture and is not posh but they give a solid offering with service that surpasses expectation. Yes the corridors may need a coat of paint, but this is usual wear and tear and everything was clean and tidy. The staff were all great and the focus on guest satisfaction was evident. We will certainly visit again.

Stayed here as a family stop over at the weekend at the start of the Covid 19 crisis. The hotel was very quiet and the staff were clearly trying their best in difficulty circumstances. The receptionist who met us on arrival was excellent; friendly, professional, helpful, and a credit to the hotel. The restaurant and bar was very quiet throughout our stay and the same level of high quality service wasn’t replicated but was satisfactory.

We used the pool facilities which were reasonable. The changing rooms could have been cleaner but it was the end of the day when we visited.

We ate in the restaurant in the evening, largely due to convenience but also as the kids ate free. The food was ok, but overpriced if the kids weren’t eating. In reality there is no way I would pay those prices if the kids weren’t eating free, but when doing so it balances itself out in the end.

We contacted the hotel at the point of booking (the day of stay!) to book connecting rooms which were provided. This obviously works well with two kids and were located on a ground floor

Very accommodating with rooms as we needed a regular, family and disabled and they put us all near to each other. Considering COVID the stay in general was OK but breakfast was shocking. Waiting over 5 minutes to be seating just staff running past us. They eventually bought a plate of teabags/coffee and a pot of water enough for two cups for 5 people. Must have been another 10 mins before we could get more water. Went for Cerals -no bowls had to ask and wait again. Then went for toast - no bread had to ask and stand and wait again at the toaster. There was a tray for waters and fruit juice again these ran out. My husband asked one waitress for water and she said i am busy! One waitress dark hair was lovely and helped us but the whole thing really was a nighmare. If they just employed one more person to stock everything up and walk round with water for tea and coffee it would be a completely different experience.

we had great service from start to finish from the team in the reception, housekeeping and restaurant. The hotel bedrooms do need a bit of tidy up but were extremely keen and we booked a very reasonable advance rate so really couldnt complain.
The gym was great too, used it daily. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Been a while since we were there but want to come back again in the future as its a great base for the area.

We stayed in room 218 which was a disabled room. The room smelt of mould, the bed sheets and curtains were damp. The toilet when flushed sounded like chewbacca. It was an awful noise. As well as others from rooms above us when they flushed their toilet. Early morning we could hear the cleaners banging around in the cleaning cupboards just outside our room. There was a delivery at 7am and the banging and crashing that came with that was very disturbing also. During our stay we ordered two drinks from the bar and both had lipstick stains on the glass. This is absolutely appauling in itself considering the current situation with Covid. Cleanliness should be your priority above we anything else at the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was bleak there was no glasses for juice, no bacon, hash browns or beans. Nobody behind the counter so we just stood waiting for fresh food or at least somebody to let us know if it was coming to which neither arrived for a good 15 minutes. So all in all it was a horrendous stay and had anybody have been on reception when we left I would have been sure to let them know.

We stayed for 2 nights so that we could have a full day in Norwich and it worked out just fine. It was a stop-over on the way home from a 5 night stay at Warner’s Gunton Hall and suited us as it was on a bus route into Norwich. Our room was clean and comfortable although we did move to it from a room that overlooked Hall Road which we thought might be noisy. We both slept well in a comfy bed so were happy with our move. All the staff were friendly and efficient (receptionists happy to oblige when we asked to move) and the restaurant staff made us feel welcome explaining what was available from the buffet as we entered on our first morning. The evening before we chose to eat in the restaurant ( you access the menu via a QR code in the room) and, to be honest ,weren’t expecting it to be very good and thought things seemed expensive. When our chilli con carne was served it was absolutely beautiful and worth every penny. The breakfast buffet was all good quality and cooked items were all well cooked. Compliments to the chef. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would probably use the hotel again if we wanted to visit Norwich again. The overall impression of the hotel is that they strive to maintain standards in all areas using quality products and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Guests appear to be a mixture of couples, families, businessmen and workers like most hotels of this type so there are some early risers. Not too much of a problem though. Well done Holiday Inn.

Comfortable, clean room. Good breakfast. Staff very courteous and pleasant on the whole, especially the restaurant staff at breakfast and the housekeeping staff. We stayed in an executive room which had everything we needed for a comfortable 3 night stay, including a fridge. Snacks and drinks are delivered to your room and ordered through scanning the QR code on the card which is unique to your room. Hot snacks and drinks arrived at our room within 10 minutes of ordering.

Parking is included in the room rate and there is ample car parking. Taxi into town cost about £10.

Excellent base for exploring both Norwich and this part of Norfolk. As their website indicates, there are several buses just outside that run frequently, and take you in to Norwich without having to drive. The hotel has a large car park.

The room needed a bit of TLC - chipped paint on the bottom of the door. The bathroom was small and poky and the bed far too hard for someone with a bad back - a feature of Holiday Inns generally, sadly. The shower also had taps behind you, meaning you had to turn it on as you got in!

However the staff were excellent - very friendly, welcoming and helpful, especially as we had daily problems with our room key. The breakfast is included and has a good choice of cold and hot items, cereals etc. The other meals served are good but limited. The pizzas are large.

We stayed at this hotel last weekend. Very different to the last couple of times we have stayed there, given the Covid situation.

Greeted by a very friendly receptionist. She explained all about the hotel protocol in relation to the Pandemic.

I was apprehensive as to whether the required protocol would negatively affect our stay. It didn't.

The hotel was spotless. Our rooms were clean and with no maid service, any ongoing items needed, were easily sourced from reception.

Breakfast was served, rather than being self service. Every day, the breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice and very well managed.

We didn't eat in the restaurant but did have a drink at the bar. You use an app to order. Very efficient.

Hopefully next time we return, circumstances will be different, but if you are needing to stay in the area, we would all highly recommend this hotel.
