Very warm and friendly guest house with great hosts that made us feel welcome. We had the attic room with our dog, very clean and cosy with a spectucular view out towards the Abbey. The cooked breakfast was de-lici-ous! Everything perfect. Black pudding...wow...and the fried bread? OMG!! We’ve spent most of our freetime in Whitby over the past 15 years...

Just spent a lovely weekend at blencathra. Friendly hosts, fabulous breakfast, and although our room wasn't en suite, we had sole use of a bathroom. Excellent position, not far from the beach and town. The room was a decent size, plenty of room for our dog who was also welcomed with open arms. Whitby is a very dog friendly place....
