A cracking little pub in the heart of Whitby selling everything from traditional Ales to Hoegaarden as well as being in the thick of The Gin craze which is everywhere. Lovely little touches such as tags attached to lots of the bottles with suggestions for alternative tipples [much appreciated]. My missus had Gin envy on the first night and had...

The Black Horse was the friendliest pub we visited in Whitby. The beer is kept well and they serve a perfect pint. Everyone who works there is very friendly and welcoming. It is dog friendly and the perfect pub in every respect. I only wish we lived in Whitby!

Been in here every night of our week long stay in Whitby. Lovely, friendly staff on the bar. Cosy little bar at the back, where everyone talka to each other. Great range of special gins, beautifully served by the bar staff

A great pub with lots of atmosphere. We were a family of four adults, a toddler, baby, and two small dogs and were made very welcome in the bar area. It is a small and cosy pub and a great place to spend time on a cold December night.

went into here for a mulled wine on a cold winter's day. It is a lovely cosy place, with friendly staff. Good for an old fashioned chat. Not suitable for big groups, but excellent all the same. Will visit again when in Whitby.

Located close to the harbour the Black Horse is convenient for the town centre and major attractions; including Whitby Abbey (check opening times). The location has four available bedroooms, on a room only basis; though a porridge pot is made available for your delectation, if you choose. Information about selected local cafes and restaurants is made available for guests. Other...
