We stayed at the Belfry and the rooms were absolutely gorgeous, Sophie and Phil went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. The rooms were immaculate and cosy, and the breakfasts delicious! We can't wait to come back to stay again, thank you again!

One of the marvellous things about travel is that it takes you to new places in bed towns, and you discover something unexpected. This is our story of Whitby. The town itself is a beautiful, compact, friendly hive of pubs, shops, restaurants and history set on both sides of the River Esk. It was much more welcoming and more diverse... More

I would love to recommend The Belfry. It was our first stay there but will definitely not be the last. As my partner put it this b&b is faultless. I didn,t even think I would like the contempary look but I am completely converted. The rooms are spotless, the beds so comfy I didn,t want to leave and Phil is... More

Stayed in Whitby numerous times either staying in b&b or the Esk Valley. We can honestly say the Belfry is by far the best we have stayed in Whitby. Lovely couple Sophie and Phil make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Luckily we found a parking place directly outside the door where the car remained for our... More

We stay in Whitby every year. 2016 was our second stay with Sophie & Phill. The standards at The Belfry have always been high, but they've worked very hard over the last 12 months to fine tune everything, and make even more improvements. We had to swap rooms from last year, as they told us our original room was being... More

Our family had a brilliant time staying at the belfry. The location was great right next to the beach and whale bone and only a few minutes walk to the centre of town. The room was pristine with a good choice of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. The breakfasts were amazing with a choice of full English or a... More
