Stayed here for two nights (Sunday to Tuesday) on an offer in a local paper. Excellent value for money, nice room and meals very good. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. The narrow road to reach the hotel is a bit of a challenge and the car park a little tight but the hotel...

We only booked for one night, wish it could have been longer. The staff could not have been more friendly and professional. The room was very clean. We had a three course evening meal which was excellent quality and brilliant value. The Hotel is full of character with oak panelled walls and comfy leather chairs in the bar. We will...

We stayed for two nights at this hotel and the staff were excellent. Restaurant at hotel was also excellent with a good selection on the menu. The hotel was only a five minute drive fron Whitby. We would visit this hotel again in the future.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome at this hotel. The room, on the top floor, was really comfortable. Tea and coffee was available complete with a tea pot and lovely biscuits. We stayed in the bar on the first evening. The bar was well stocked and the atmosphere very welcoming. There was a real fire...

Location is very good. You are right next to Sandsend, given that we always walk the length of the beach and back...

Looked at reviews prior to booking and it seemed OK. Quite obviously peoples expectations are different and I think some reviewers either don't get out much or are not entirely truthful in their critique. I guess its hit and miss, someone can have a good experience and the very next person can have a bad experience. On this occasion ours...
