What a wonderful old place, exactly what I was looking for, creaky floors, wood paneling and fun nooks and crannies that initially got you lost wandering around. Four poster beds in most bedrooms. Judy was most accommodating and helpful making sure that I enjoyed myself. Great breakfast and delicious evening meals so good I simply went home to eat rather...

We stayed here when it was the Goathland Hydro many years ago & wanted to have lunch to take time to relive the many happy memories. The sandwiches were first class and were most reasonably priced. We were made very welcome and would certainly call again when in the area.

While staying at Goathland, we decided to try the restaurant attached to The Inn On The Moor. What a great surprise. The food was sensational. I had the loin pork dish and the pork was beautifully slow roasted, and the gravy was fabulous. Everything was fantastic, even my fussy 11 year old ate the whole meal of chicken, even though...

We always make a beeline for this place whenever we are up in this part of Yorkshire because the food has always been outstanding. Homemade, hot and generous portions always make us feel we have had our money's worth, and our last visit on the 3rd of August was no exception. We chose steak and ale pie and roast beef...

Yet again, the Inn on the Moor welcomed us as part of a large group of hungry and muddy motorcyclists. We were accommodated wonderfully, despite our demands for early breakfasts and late dinners. The service was terrific and all the food was totally delicious and in very generous portions. It was the perfect venue for us and we loved our...

We have travelled to Goathland for a number of years and whilst not stopping at this hotel, we have always made a beeline for the hotel's bar which, despite its aged decor, serves excellent food. This time we feel sadly let down. On paying the food bill for 4 people I gave one of the barmen £100 for a £90...

I can't believe an establishment like this hasn't been shut down! I am lost for words! Last weekend my husband and I visited goathland (which is beautiful). We had completed a long walk and needed a rest so popped into the 'hotel' aka hellhole. We were ignored upon entering and then when finally served, the bar man was very rude!...

We have passed this place many times because it does not appeal to the person going by. Last week we gave it a go because the board said that there was real ale available. I am not a big fan of Hobgoblin but this was superb. It was 8 p.m. and I asked if food was available. The reply was...

we was told that this is the best place to take a family in goathland for food, and we wasn't disappointed, it has a good atmosphere and the land lord was really nice and made us feel at home, would really recommend it for food, not sure about stopping there as we was in a caravan opposite the inn on...
