This is a guest house and it is lovely, although it is a dated and slightly worn in places it was well maintained and very clean through out. There was a group of us visiting and some of the rooms were rather small for adults sharing, and an awful lot of stairs after an evening in town, but then the...

We stayed here for 2 nights in October. It was a lovely b and b, well presented, very clean and comfortable, staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was very nice. I would definitely recommend it. We were lucky to have found this. If i was returning to Whitby, i would definitely stay again.

The Argyle House is by far the best hotel I have visited in the country! Not only were the staff extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms stylish, modern and comfortable, but the staff at the hotel were extremely tolerant of my partner's nut allergy, giving her special breakfasts and allowing her to eat later than other guests. I would...

This B&B is a real little gem. It looks just like dozens of other places in any town, but the owners have really thought about things that will make your stay just that little bit better. For example, thought has been given to the positioning of dressing table, mirrors and sockets, so that you can do your hair and make...

We stayed for two nights at this B&B at the beginning of September. It ideally placed for the town, just a short walk to the harbour and shops and restaurants. Parking is where you can get on the street but they give you a free parking pass that lasts for 4 days and we parked just around the corner and...

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Argyle House as first time visitors to Whitby. I booked on the phone direct about 10 days in advance and didn't receive an email to confirm my booking so had to call the day before travel (was told by the owner his wife usually sorted this out). Apparently due to my email...

Slightly difficult to find due to the odd practice of giving each side of the street a different name in Whitby! Room was quite nice but back entrance to the premises was not. Some confusion about what a full English breakfast was.

A friend and I stayed just one night at the Argyle. From the outside it looks as if it maybe needs a bit of 'TLC' but we needn't have worried. A very friendly welcome and our room was spotlessly clean with very modern facilities, the on-suite bathroom was lovely. The television provision was second to none, with Sky and films...

Thank for staying with us and for your lovely comments. Indeed, there are some area that do need a bit of TLC, but we are getting there slowly. Our most priority is all the technology is in place, so our guest can enjoy them while they are with us. If you ever in town, look us up. Kind regards Lily

Stayed at the Argyle in Whitby, we had the loft room, the room was great itself and the breakfast lovely. I would say if your a pensioner don't stay in the loft room since the last flight of stairs is pretty steep and narrow. The only other minor point is the parking in Whitby, as with most of the guest...
