Currently sitting here in Number 27 Cooks Cottage of the complex. What can I say. This place is amazing, quiet, peaceful and so relaxing. The views are incredible. The Larpool Viaduct is such an imposing bit of scenery. What can I say about the accommodation. Myself and my partner booked this place through the Hoseasons website for a very good...

Just back from family holiday at captain cooks haven we booked as a family with a 16 month baby Cannot really fault but on hindsight not ideal for family with baby . It really is not a casual walk into Whitby if pushing a trolley the hill to viaduct is very steep and sadly although a dog owners paradise the...

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here, the first was through Sykes Cottages and this time via Hoseasons. We stayed in No13. The cottage was as expected, clean but could do with a but of TLC but what do you expect with the high footfall. The bath was small and narrow but they make the most of the...

We stayed in a Hoseasons cottage - no.22 at Captain Cook's Haven, during October half term (2016). Firstly, I asked Hoseasons for the addressed of the resort via email and didn't hear back from them until half way through our holiday (not helpful). Please note, we received no correspondence from Hoseasons detailing the resorts address, after booking - which was...

Reception: Easy quick check in. Not overly friendly but helpful (but see note below). Accommodation: First, the step leading into the property needs attention. It is very shallow with a large overhang (see picture). My wife, unsighted by the bag she was carrying in on arrival tripped and fell. She recently had a replacement hip operation and it could have...

Captain Cook's Haven is in a wonderful location overlooking the river Esk, with steam trains passing by, and within a 20 minute walk of Whitby. The grounds are well kept and the staff were welcoming on our arrival. Unfortunately, our cottage, number 41 was rather disappointing. It was looking rather tired and in need of refurbishment in some places. There...

Bit of a distance from the centre of town but the cottages are well presented and you are right by the river with a view of the NYMR steam trains going past . Pool is nice and staff are helpful. We've been here a few times now and loved it every time. If you want to walk into town the...

Lovely cottage, lovely area. Everything you need and very comfortable. Very pleased we gave it a try and will go again. Our grandson loved the crabbing at the river behind the cottage! Just booked to spend another week here next year. My family liked it so much! Four of us stayed in Endeavour Cottages this year but are going to...
