I booked room 6 for my partners birthday weekend, I had seen pictures online prior to arriving. The room did not disappoint at all! The bathroom was amazing along with the whirlpool bath, which did take a little while to fill up but nothing major. The four poster bed was amazing, cannot fault the room one bit. Also the room...

We had the pleasure of spending 4 days and 3 nights midweek at The Stables - what a wonderful base. We had originally intended to stop in Whitby itself but we were so pleased that the search engine threw up this place. Whitby is a traditional seaside resort so accommodation is rather cramped and rather old. The opposite can be...

We drove down off the N York moors on a cold misty Saturday morning in November, with little hope of finding anywhere open at 8.30. The Stables at Cross Butts was not only open but so welcoming. Excellent coffee and toast. This restaurant deserves to do well. We will certainly go again if we are in the area.

Recently attended my son's wedding at Cross Butts and couldn't fault anything. Arrived on the Friday and shown the room we were staying in. This was in a small courtyard with all the rooms off it. This was good as all the family were next to each other. The evening meal was excellent and the fish and chips were to...

Just returned from a 2 night stay at The Cross Butts Hotel & found it just as good as when we last stayed almost 5 years ago. On first entering our room it was a little chilly but the underfloor heating soon kicked in & after that the room was lovely & warm. Plenty of tea, coffee & milk plus...

I stayed in Anniversary Room 6 at the beginning of October 2016. The room has a wow factor as you walk in with the imposing four poster bed and the antique furniture. The room was warm and clean, the bathroom has a whirlpool bath and a separate shower cubicle, towels were of good quality and soft and fluffy. There was...

Having eaten here before we were expecting to have a good quality meal that was reasonably priced. We all had different choices for starters and they all were well presented, plentiful & tasty. Unfortunately the main courses did not hit the mark. One of the choices was the specials board Sunday lunch. When this arrived the new potatoes that were...
