We stayed for 2 nights based on the strength of reviews. The guest house is in a centrally located Victorian town house and one of many guesthouses in the local area.It is within easy walking distance to the harbour area and other attractions. The bedrooms were clean and very nicely presented with all the things you would expect from a... More

We recently celebrated a mini honeymoon after our wedding in this beautiful guesthouse. It is immaculate, very clean, fantastic breakfasts, and the nicest owners you will meet. Some places are worth every penny, and this is one of them. Thank you for organising Champagne and flowers and for your wedding gift. We cannot wait to come back soon!

Second time this year and once again excellent in every way. Sue and Gary really care about their guests, this is reflected in the high standards that they keep to. Ideally situated for the Town centre. Thank you both, we will be back.

Stayed for 3 nights in room No.2 in this fab BnB. All beautifully clean and decorated to a very high standard. We stayed in room No.2 which had a Victorian style bed. If your under 5 ft tall you need a step stool to get into it but worth it as so comfortable. Our friends stayed in room 4 which... More

The hosts, Sue and Gary were so welcoming and are clearly a wonderful team! We had room 2, the biggest room at the B&B. The room is stunning with its enormous bed (huge and very very high up!), along with the period features, ceiling rose and fireplace. The room looked freshly decorated (stunning wallpaper & accessories in tasteful shades of... More

Thank you so much Sue and Gary for another lovely stay! As always the room was beautiful, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, very spacious and with a really comfy bed! The breakfast was delicious and provided lots of choice, it really set you up for the day. Our stay was just perfect. Once again thank you very much.

Based in Germany and obsessed with all things British, my husband and I usually visit Northern England at least every two years. This was our second 4-nights-stay at High Tor Guest House and just as in 2014 we simply cannot praise this 1st-rate B&B and its so utterly endearing owners Sue & Gary enough! Normally you start planning your journey... More

We have stayed here a number of times and not once have we been dissapointed. People we have recommended to stay at the guesthouse feel the same. The decor is impeccable, it's spotless, a rarity if you ask me. The owners Sue and Gary are warm and welcoming. The room we stayed in is stunning, the huge bed comfortable. Plenty... More
