The pub is really cosy and cheap. Our room was very nice with all the usual amenities. The walk into York is pleasant and takes about ten minutes.
Thought the room was value for money. Only negative is that no food is served.
Ended up coming here two nights in a row we had such a good time. Friendliest and funniest staff i've ever met in my life, lovely locals, made us feel extremely welcome. Amazing value for drinks!! Spent the whole night chatting with the bar staff...More

20 minute walk along the long straight road to bootham gate then down past the minster then right at the minster square/street that leads to the shambles short walk across the bridge on river to city walls.
