We have never been disappointed with the service, the food is good and reasonably priced they have a good selection of beers and if that's not enough to tempt you visiting the old manor house is full of History and ghosts the Black Swan has kept it's old world charm with friendly staff and locals. The Black Swan is also a...

So far in England this has been the best pub feed I've had and it was a great price, would defiantly go back! The service was really good and the atmosphere was awesome, it was also really cool to get talking to a few locals. It's really central so easy to walk to if your in town as well.

On the last day, I realised I hadn't yet visited the Black Swan, so set out in its direction. Lovely, olde worlde facade,...

The Black Swan is a beautifully maintained building from circa 1417 with tons of character. We were told it is the most haunted Inn located in York. While we did not see any ghosts, we did have a wonderful meal there. The food was delicious and portions fairly large. Would definitely return there again.

We recently visited the Black Swan for a Folk Concert featuring Dan McKinnon from Nova Scotia and supported by other local artists. We arrived early and had drinks in the bar. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a real cosy ambience about the place. I am not sure when it was built, but it is very old. At...

Found this great pub by chance on a day out in York. How lucky we were! My wife and i had the steak and ale pie for lunch and were not disappointed. Go try it for yourselves. It's fabulous and so are the staff. Thanks. We can't wait to go back.
