The food was absolutely out of this world! Best lasagne I've ever tasted. Love the quirkiness of the pub. I witnessed the staff being great with other people but when one of our group went up the guy started checking his phone while pouring a pint. Not great! He could of waited till he'd served our drinks.

We fancied a quick pub lunch and we were very happy with the food and service! Love the quirkiness of the pub with the slanted floors etc. Real character! The country's most haunted pub!! Would highly recommend the sausage and cheese and the bacon and brie hot baguettes! Very tasty and filling!

This is "the most haunted pub in York" and we'd been there before and when we looked at out pictures later we had those spirit balls in them!!!! It was about 7.30 on Friday night and it was VERY busy. We did want to eat so got seated upstairs on the third floor, but that had a feeling of a...

It's a quaint little old style pub. A bit like someone's front room. So don't expect super clean it's oldie worldie. And worth a visit if your on the shambles My partner and I had a great drink no issues at all. Cash only.

Popped in for quick pint. Bar staff surly and when not serving glued to mobile. Tables dirty and glasses not collected. Seems to be victim of success. Saw that people choice pub of the year 2013 but framed certificate also dusty and grimy. Oh dear.

Where to have lunch on a busy Friday afternoon? We chose the old Golden Feece on Pavement...it was busy but we managed to find a table, the lovely old quirky pub had a large number of diners so we felt it would be a good place to eat. We ordered our drinks asked for menus.....at the end of the bar!!!...

Family lunch. 4 adults and 4 children. All fully satisfied and full. Large portions at reasonable prices. Good selection of ales. Gets very busy later on so if there is a large party best to book. Well worth a visit

After trying 3 separate times to get a seat we finally got in. Very very busy and popular pub. Very quirky and historical. We had lasagne and the little un had the giant Yorkshire pudding with 4 sausages and mash. Big portions and very tasty. Have to say we couldn't fault it. We will definitely return.
