We have been here before and decided to come back on one of our UK trips. We booked the Williams Room. The place is amazing and in such a central location that once you arrive you just walk everywhere. The breakfasts are freshly cooked, really good and the waitress Morgan was so polite and friendly. Our room was a little...

Interesting building in a great location. Our room was quiet, comfortable, spacious with a great view to the Minster. Visited in December and although advised of a heating problem our room was warm. Nice modern bathroom and spotless. The welcome at reception was very good and the staff cheerful and professional. Slight disappointment at breakfast which was rather perfunctory. Will...

Thank you for your very helpful review. I do apologise that you felt breakfast service was a little lacking - we normally get glowing reports of our cheery breakfast staff so please rest assured that this is not normal for service. With regards to the conference on at the time, you were correctly informed that this is not normally the...

On this occasion we only popped in for a quick drink on a Sunday lunchtime which was lovely. We were made to feel very welcome. The hotel is a beautiful building and has a lovely feel to it. Its gardens are also beautiful and overlook York wall. Will be back.

I was invited to join a client's business team meeting at Gray's Court a little while ago and found myself wishing that I was staying in the hotel, rather than simply attending a meeting there. The ambience was fantastic, the staff welcoming and the food enjoyable. As far as meeting facilities are concerned, they were fine but obviously not high...

Thank you for your review. I quite agree that our conference facilities are not the most high-tech but hopefully what we lack in digital advances we make up for with character. I hope you get the chance to stay with us overnight soon. Best wishes, Helen

A bit late writing this review as stayed here in November 2016 in the Cumberland Suite. What an experience it was, it was a genuine pleasure to stay in such a historic property which has been lovingly restored. The staff were attentive and I had the best 'old fashioned' cocktail ever here. The breakfasts were more than adequate and the...

We visited this hotel recently which is located just a few yards from the Minster. The staff were very friendly and helpful and eager to share its history. The accommodation was very comfortable and.clean with modern bathroom. We dined in the restaurant in the evening and the food was well presented and excellent. Breakfast was equally good. I would definitely...

For our 1st wedding anniversary my wife and I visited York (3rd visit). We had been recommended to visit the Grays Court Hotel by friends who had stayed there a few times and loved the place. As we had already booked the Indigo hotel (top marks) we called in at the Grays for evening drinks the night before the anniversary...

I'm sorry to read this review. To clarify things a little, I did get your message on my return from a weeks holiday. I also discussed the issues with the staff who were working on the day. I clearly recall meeting you, and we did have an interesting conversation, I also recommended the restaurant because the food is exceptional. Since...

From the moment we drove into the ancient courtyard we were delighted to have found this very special small hotel. Delightful staff, wonderful ambience, comfortable individually styled rooms and delicious food. Superb.

We stayed for one night at this beautiful historic hotel in an absolutely perfect location by York Minster, with - and this is incredible for York - on site parking (small extra charge - book in advance). We took our cocker spaniel and he could not have been made more welcome. Dogs are understandably not allowed in the very smart...

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We love dogs here, and I'm so happy that you all felt welcome throughout your stay. You must come back and visit in the summer so that you can sit out in the garden. Dogs are of course welcome outside - ours will be out as well! Best wishes, Helen

We spent a few days in York and this hotel was just lovely. Great location near the Minster, a warm welcome and pleasant cheerful staff throughout our stay made it somewhere we will definitely return to. The building is beautiful and well kept. We'll try the restaurant next time and look forward to their expanded lunch menu soon.
