Me and my girlfriend arrived for our anniversary weekend on 26 June 15, we couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights in the suite and the room actually took our breath away when we first walked in, beautifully decorated and furnished with a contemporary look while maintaining the Georgian feel to the property....

Have just spent two nights here, very quiet road, lovely breakfasts, we had room 3, very nice comfortable room, the extra touches of slippers, robes and bubbly made it even more special, about 20min walk into York and that was taking our time.

The lady who greeted us was really friendly and I was very optimistic initially. The room was warm on a cold day which was nice. My friend was in a large separate room and we paid over £400 for 2 nights in total and for that I would have expected to be treated more like important guests than an inconvenience....

My husband and I have just returned from a pleasant two night stay here. The room was big enough for the two of us, nicely decorated and very clean. The service here is very good and the breakfast was gorgeous, a great start to the day :) the location is good as well, just a fifteen minute walk to the...

Stayed here for 1 night on the bank holiday. Hotel is located on a side street which is nice & quiet & has parking available on the street with a permit, however there wasn't much space on that particular weekend. Owner greeted us at the door & was really nice & friendly. Hotel is very homely & I loved all...

Arrived at this lovely hotel for our wedding anniversary. Was greeted with a warm and friendly manner. Even though we had a small double room, it was really nice and cosy. Everything you needed was in the very clean and inviting room. With an added bonus of a bottle of Fizz for us. What a lovely surpise. Thank you both...

Convenient parking on street with a permit available from the guest house. Good breakfast; offered more toast and coffee if desired. Location is quiet and a pleasant 10-15 minute walk to the centre. On the expensive side though so not great value in my opinion.

we were treated to a suite with champagne for one night. The room was beautiful and clean with an enormous bed. The only negative was the champagne was a bottle of Proseco , not champagne. The breakfast was pleasant but I have had better. It was fresh and the sausage was tasty.

We booked our stay for Valentines weekend, based on Booking.com and Tripadvisor reviews, which proved to be accurate. I was struck immediately by the quality of everything, the linens, towels and the bed, which was huge and so comfortable my partner and I are planning on getting a similar one for home. When we stay anywhere, I actively check for...

Just had a 2 night break away in the family room. The room was clean, comfy and very warm with little extras like hot chocolate bottled water and chocolates left on valentines day. The breakfast was very nice and plenty of choice for adults & children. Home made biscuits left for you to help yourself. overall a lovely friendly place...
