We had a room on the second floor. Was pretty, clean and the bed was great. The hospitality can't be beat and the breakfast delicious. It does take about 20 minutes to walk to the York city center, but it is an easy walk with such beautiful houses and sights to see that we enjoyed it. We had questions before...

This guest house is less than a ten minute walk from York Minster, restaurants and shops. There is street parking. Breakfast was very good. The whole place is well kept and very clean. Our room (no.6) was a small double room. The en suite shower room was also small but adequate - would benefit from a heated towel rail (or...

I stayed here for 4 nights during a visit to York. The Guest House is located only about a 15-minute walk from the Minster. I was in a single room, Room 4, which shared a bathroom one floor down with another room. A toilet was in one room and in another room was a room with a sink, tub, and...

Location was excellent, we were greeted with a friendly smile, and a knowledgeable host. We were shown to our room with ease. The room was a nice size and spotlessly clean. The attention to detail was spot on, it's the finishing touches that make all the difference, ultra fast internet, a quiet Dyson fan in the room, flat screen tv,...

Can't praise Andrew and his staff at Bootham City Guest house enough. Stayed one night with him to attend a concert in York and our stay was fantastic. Andrews attention to detail is second to none. One of my pet hates at hotels and guest houses that offer room refreshment, they always ration how many milk, sugar, coffee and tea...

Great location...walking distance from the heart of the city. Friendly staff. Seems like a young-ish area with many reasonable places to eat and drink. Good full breakfast as well. Very helpful young ladies working the front desk.

Thank Linda M
