Stayed here for a weekend and was extremely satisfied with what was offered for the price. The hotel is just a short walk away from the main sights of the city centre. I was really impressed with the service at the hotel and the staff were very helpful. The room was more than adequate, clean and with a comfortable bed....

What a great value. Had read other reviews some of which had been a little disparaging but I found no foundation to those. The room was clean and comfortable with plentiful tea/coffee etc. breakfast was great - nice service and other reports of 'small portions' must have been written by somewhat greedy people. Plenty of choice, all included in the...

Stayed here for one night with work. Receptionist was lovely and made me feel welcome, hotel was very dated in its decoration but suited it. My room was very small (room 7) and the toilet and shower were small too. And the door was hanging off its runners. Beds were comfty though. Breakfast was really nice and I enjoyed it....

Stayed here a number of times but not reviewed it for a couple of years. The Hotel is traditional with flowery sofas with curly arms in the lounge, the traditional look persists in the small but rather nice dining room. Our room was to the front of the hotel, it was warm. airy with comfortable beds and a new bathroom,...

We came here for a romantic weekend break and Holgate Hill helped to make it an amazing time. Our room and bathroom was clean, nicely furnished, more than big enough for two (and our luggage), with all the amenities to keep us comfortable. We stayed in room 18 which was warm, quiet and gave a lovely view of some cottages....

Decided to have a night out in York, went to Jamie's which was fantastic. Decided to stay at this Hotel, I was really disappointed . It's what I would call an oldy worldly hotel. On the face of it , It looked ok. However when we got to our room I was gutted. It was the size of a cupboard...
