We had a midweek break in York on 11-Feb-2015 and stayed in Ashley House. It is only about 10 - 15 minutes walk to York Minster. The owner Phil was very friendly and helpful and the room was excellent. There was a great choice of breakfast served with a great pot of tea! I will stay there again and have...

I booked Ashley Guest House for two nights at the end of January for my boyfriend and I who are aged 19-21. It was perfect for what we needed- a short walk into the city and to nearby hotels, restaurants, shops and cafés, so we could sightsee in the day and then go back out again for dinner in the...

Me and my girlfriend stayed for 2 nights and used the Ashley guest house as our base to explore Yorks attractions. Our host Phil made us feel very welcome from the off helping carry our bags and offering his gorgeous, freshly made brownies. Our room was delightful with a very comfy bed and very clean. The breakfast each morning was...

The rooms, location, owner and especially the breakfast are fantastic, there is a very wide selection. All very relaxed and easy to arrange. Walking distance from the town and the station. Lovely city and a great place to stay for even a short visit.

Our family just returned from a weekend stay at Ashley House and would recommend it to anyone. We took three rooms in the house between five of us. The house itself is lovely; big rooms, well decorated and furnished. All three of the rooms were very nice and have an individual character, I stayed in room 4 which has a...

What a beautiful guesthouse! From the time of booking, the owners kept in touch to make sure everything was as planned, when we arrived, we were shown our lovely basement room, given leaflets, maps and information about the city, shown the little seating/reading area upstairs next to the breakfast room and made sure to call if we needed anything. Me and my partner had a great 2 night midweek stay. We stayed in "The book room" on the top floor, which was cosy, warm and clean. The breakfast in the morning was terrific and the owners were really very friendly and helpful. The location was also nice and quiet. I would happily stay again.
