Only plus is the central location, furthermore nothing good to say about the Riverside Walk. We had to wait in the rain for 15 minutes before the door was opened (rang the doorbell, called the telephonenumber, and we called in advance and told the barely English speaking host at what time we would arrive). Room was very, very small, as...

Stayed here for two nights, the location is perfect, overlooking the river and only a 5 min walk into town. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. The room we were in was small, but contained everything we needed and the view of the river made up for the size!

The website looked great and we were drawn by the riverside location. The property, however, is run down and grossly overpriced for what it is. Paint is dirty and peeling. Rooms are small. There was mold above the door in the bathroom. Lots of mold. We went out looking for another place immediately. The guy who answered the door seemed...

No problem in booking sat nav took us straight there. Welcome pot of tea on arrival met by a Spanish couple who both spoke very good English. We had the attic room which was a bit small but did overlook the river. Think that this room should really be a bit cheaper due to the size but was perfectly adequate...

Dated/cheap decor gave way to our tiny room's peeling paintwork and mouldy bathroom. Stepped into the room, looked around, and stepped straight back out to look for somewhere habitable. Might've expected this if it was half the price they're charging.

This guest house charges way over the top for what it is £75 B&B - can get a very nice hotel room for less. Very old fashioned, stair carpets threadbare and bedroom carpets badly stained, the shower riser rail fell off wall, black mould in shower, cobwebs hanging from ceiling and because of the cleanliness of the guest house didn't...

This guesthouse has a few good positives about it, these being the staff who were very friendly and helpful, the location in relation to the town centre and the breakfast which was freshly cooked and very tasty. For some balance however, we did have a very small room and thought it was not value for money. Having spoke to another...

This is our 3rd time up in York & our 3rd time staying at The Riverside Walk guest House. We stayed for 6 nights & enjoyed it very much. Yes it's an old building in some need of renovating but the service is very good, friendly staff, clean rooms & a very good hearty breakfast. I'd rather stay here than...

Me and my boyfriend stayed here and it was amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful and as soon as we arrived they made us a cup of tea and had a chat about where to visit in york. Brilliant location, 2 minute walk from the city The rooms were so cosy and the view from the room was...

From the outside this place looks shabby and its no better inside, in a poor state of repair, part of the ceiling in the dining area is falling down and there are huge cracks across it, the stairs are very narrow, our room (number 8 top floor attic) was very cramped (more like a single room not a double), it...
