Can't complain too much at this price level, as the hotel was mostly ok: comfortable room & bed, in a handy location of town. Annoying niggles though were a TV remote control that didn't work and the bedroom phone wouldn't connect to reception. Also the breakfast finished ridiculously early - 9am, even at weekends - and they didn't let me in late after I'd mistakenly thought it finished later (asked at 9.11am and they said they stop allowing entry at 9.10!). Oh well, I'll know for next time.

It's cheap and clean, breakfast is good. The room was cold and heating couldn't be controlled from the room.

For a disabled person, you get a ground floor room but difficult or almost impossible for a wheelchair and a long way from the reception, the furthest point away.

The toiletries were for one person for one shower

The bed is low quality

LED lights are far too bright

Good to see biscuits and free chocolates

Stayed here for four nights while we visited family. Slept well, clean, comfy and quiet. Car park tricky as it is accessed done an unmade road full of potholes. Mostly we parked out front overnight but you have to move car by 8am and the rest of the time we left it there all day as we walked a good deal.
Breakfast fresh cooked to order, juice, cereal, tea/coffee then full English or parts thereof.

If you’re looking for a fantastic traditional bed and breakfast, this hotel is for you, it’s run and hosted by Michael and Robert the owners and they have rung this place for 37 years, you won’t find a better bed and breakfast hotel for the price anywhere reason why I charged fantastic breakfast in the morning every day starting at 6:30 am, and for the price you even get a French in the room, a very large walk-in shower central heating clean towels provided every two days which some hotels don’t do and a homely welcome.
It’s a no-frills hotel, so you’re not going to find expensive pictures on the walls or fancy wallpaper it’s a basic very clean very warm hotel with everything you need. Like I said from fridge to ironing board to iron to hairdryer to Land Line in every room, most rooms have double beds in which is two houses, not into one at the front that they have a large Annick at the back with car parking in a secure gated car park at the rear of the hotel, trust me I’ve travelled around B&Bs for 40 odd years. This is a bargain home from home.

We booked our stay via booking.com, it explains that your payment will be taken out on arrival. This was not the case, it was taken 4 days prior to us turning up. We got our key to our room up 3 sets of very steep stairs to the top floor. When we got into our room we noticed we couldn’t actually lock the door. After both of us trying to fiddle different ways to get it to lock we decided to go ask for a new room. The man on reception said that they were fine and carried on upstairs to show us how to solve this puzzle. Turns out he couldn’t get the door to lock either. After trying to bend the catch back to get it to try and hold. We then got given a second room, I CANNOT explain the stench of the room! I couldn’t walk into the room. The website states that the hotel is a non smoking hotel. Well this room was an extra smoke friendly room!! I don’t understand how as a hotel owner you can let rooms out that are so ridiculously bad! We asked for a refund as we didn’t want to stay here. The owner offered us a 3rd room. We explained what we didn’t want to spend all afternoon hopping from room to room trying to find one what was actually liveable. He wasn’t happy and said he wouldn’t give us a refund it was down to booking.com.
We called Booking.com after we left, they said it’s not down to them and as the owner of the hotel he knows it not down to them to give a refund and we had to go though him, we were told that we needed to go back to the hotel and get a refund. The next morning we returned to get a refund and after an very grumpy and angry owner he reluctantly give us a refund. After asking and explaining servals times.
Do not waste your time on this dirty hotel! It is outrageous and he should not be letting rooms out!! Oh the stench of the room was horrific.

WOW! Michael and Robert you work so hard. THANKYOU!! for having us stay with you. You were both so friendly and welcoming to myself and my family. We stayed for 2 nights and had 3 rooms, 2 doubles and 1 family room for a family get together to see my uncle who lives in Northampton
The rooms are very spacious everything you need kettle biscuits TV hairdryer iron and ironing board and toiletries supplied. Comfortable clean beds. Hot shower. Very reasonably priced including full English breakfast freshly cooked. Beautifully decorated tables white linen cloths cereals and fresh juice freshly cooked toast and as much tea and coffee as you would like.
Michael and Robert have been running the hotel together for decades and you can see they have created a lovely family run business welcoming and warm and friendly nothing is too much trouble for their guests . (free parking at rear of hotel) also key to front door so you can come and go as you please. They also welcomed a visitor my cousin and her children and we attended the balloon festival while we were staying. Worth a visit.
The beautiful park / racecourse Is a 2 minute walk from hotel town about 10 minute walk but if you need a good taxi service we would recommend skyline taxis details are in the hotel reception.
When we come to Northampton again I would definitely use this hotel not because of any flash decor that you find in other hotels but because of the way the brothers made us feel so welcome. WELLDONE keep doing what you are doing. We appreciate your kindness to us all and how relaxed and fun our weekend was. Memories made to cherish forever.
Take care and hopefully see you soon. Anna and family x

I would like to write about this hotel. We had initially chosen this hotel because of a friends recommendation and booked through Booking.com but 6 days before we were due to travel our circumstances changed and we had to use the free cancellation that was applied to the booking condition but low and behold the hotel still took payment out of the account. After contacting the hotel 3 times we were fobbed off "it was booking.com fault that the money had been taken out of our account" then miraculously when we mentioned that it was the hotels name against the transaction the representative of the hotel back tracked. Finally we received a refund of the monies taken from our account but when I asked for an explanation there was non forth coming. We had been looking forward to staying at the hotel as it came highly recommended and we were looking for a comfortable hotel for future bookings for personal and business use but we will never darken the door of this hotel after the way this issue was dealt with.

I booked this hotel through Booking.com who stated that payment would be taken on arrival, and we could cancel 24 hours before arrival. The hotel, however, took full payment a few days before arrival. Unfortunately, we had to cancel due to a COVID scare before arrival on the first day. I totally understood that we would have to pay for that night, but I expected to be reimbursed for the second night. However, it has taken 2months to be repaid and I had to go through Booking.com as the hotel did not want to know. Not impressed!

Not only did we have faulty electrical sockets in original room but also in the room we were moved to, shower with no shower door, blood on the ceiling light and bedside table, window that you couldn’t close, face mask covering the smoke alarm and other residents were smoking in there rooms. To make matters even worse the owners took full payment before the deposit was even due and when questioned about this he stated that he needed the money. The owners didn’t care about any of the above, they were rude.
Avoid this place it’s dangerous, dirty oh and PAT testing on electric items stated dec 2010.

Utterly disgusting!
From the second we walked in to the room it was obvious that the housekeepers clearly don’t know what they are doing. You can see in one of the images provided that the kettle had not been cleaned and there were noodles or whatever it was in there. Absolutely vile.
The shower was ice cold, as well as having disgusting moldy rims on the shower head.
The only toilet we got given was not even half a roll which by the way, very unsanitary as other customers have clearly used it before us.
The beds were absolutely awful, nor me or my mum could sleep in them. They were so uncomfortable!!
All the images that you can see just clearly proves the fact that it is absolutely awful!
I do not recommend at all.
Don’t waste your money!
No wonder why they made it i refundable !

Forgot to mention, the staff were so droopy and boring. As if they barely even acknowledged us!

In the other images provided you can see the hotel was just very dirty in general. Not happy.
