Discovering this place helped me feel more at home when starting a new job, whilst commuting across the country. With that being said, my weekly stay was spread across 18 months...

The host has a fantastic sense of humour. Through my experience, the rooms have loads of character, great breakfast and a welcoming atmosphere.

Its location, service and value is second to none!

Basic guest house - but reflected in the price. More suited to tradesman accomodation.
Breakfast good. Owner helpful in findingdirections. No parking available. Nice location overlooking the beautiful park.

Me and my partner stayed for one night and had an enjoyable time. The room was a very reasonable rate especially given the location across from a gorgeous looking park and a short walk to the town centre. The owner made us feel very welcome and his cooked breakfast was very good. The decor was also a highlight with some beautiful pieces of furniture and original paintings covering most of the walls.

No response to email enquiry after 2 days. Have also tried phoning landline and mobile with no better luck. I appreciate that people aren't always available, but not to provide an answerphone serive on either landline or answerphone, or set up an automated email response if unable to respond for a period, suggests these hosts are not very interested in their business.

We booked this guest house about 10 weeks before going.
Earlier on the day we were due to arrive, I sent a text to Richard stating that we would arrive around 9pm that evening.
He replied with "Ok see you then."
Unfortunately due to problems we were sorry, but had been further delayed. We texted Richard at 9.15 to say that sat nav was saying we'd be there at 10.05.
Then Richard phoned me and said "You will not arrive at 10 it would be later. first it was nine, now ten. " He then went on to say how he was fed up as he was on his own and was fed up of being inconvenienced. He then said 9 was far too late. He then proceeded to rant down the phone. I apologised for upsetting him and those were the only words I got out. Basil fawlty eat your heart out!!
We were then told he'd decided to cancel our booking and we were to find somewhere else to stay ..........at 9.25!
Had Richard told me when I booked or said I was arriving around 9 that this was too late we'd have said fair enough.
No thanks to Hillview. We found a nice hotel at a very good price. (Holiday Inn Express ) (although Richard did eventually text us somewhere that was no good)
Do not inconvenience this man!

Hotel is very clean throughout, the rooms are nicely set out which made it very comfortable with arm chairs and a coffee table, the owner was very polite and helpful, the breakfast was great offering full English which was great, pots of tea and coffee, fresh juices, choices of cereal, toast etc, the location is great for public transport and shops
I stayed in Northampton paying double these rates previously and preferred this B and B, it’s also like a separate hotel as the accommodation is seperate from the owners

For the price it is well worth it, would recommend

Economical, warm welcome, friendly host & an excellent breakfast. Close to lots of restaurants & a lovely park.

Good location, only a short walk into the centre of Northampton. Would happily stay here again if in the area..

there is free on-street parking on the road outside or nearby. Our room had a microwave, useful if you want to keep the costs down.

Richard is a very kind man other than a serious and reliable person. He is present if you have any problems. The room was nice warm and clean with TV. I really enjoyed my time there. I highly recommend it
