Small ensuite room which was incredibly hot. Outside temperature around 10C. Radiator in room off. Window open and room temperature still 20C which is too hot for me to sleep comfortably. Plus having window open meant sounds car park made it impossible to sleep until the bar closed and all the non residents had left. Poor interior sound proofing meant...

As ever my stops are by necessity rather than choice. The twice brewed is a place we passed during a recent family expedition to the Hadrian wall. Looks ok from outside.... I thought it might be a traditional old pub / inn.... Turns out it probably was an old inn, but it has been "hollowed out" to be a tourist...

Dear seanmckerrell, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of The Twice Brewed, something of a mixed bag and we are sorry to hear you are not in favour of the much needed updating. Good to hear you found the flavour of the food to be enjoyable, noted about the "dainty" opinion, we shall see what we...

Since our last stay (a few years ago) this lovely old, remote pub with rooms has been revamped. We paid in advance for an overnight stay and an early evening meal on Easter Saturday as we were attending an event at nearby NT Housesteads. We arrived mid afternoon and were warmly greeted by a number of obviously overwrought staff. The...

We called into the pub at about 3pm on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We need to call in for a bite to eat and a drink before we travelled on from a short walk on Hadrian's Wall. The pub was clean and attractive - well kept with clean functioning toilets. We ordered two sandwiches - one each of the only...

We stayed two nights in a newly renovated family room, the view was stunning. The room was comfortable with our two children (age 13 and 4). The food and service at the pub were GREAT, my children were treated very well! The location was perfect for exploring Hadrian's Wall. Free wifi is available at this inn, however it did not...

A great stop over while walking Hadrian's wall. Located near the famous tree. Bright clean place with modern tidy refurbished rooms. The Staff here are what makes this place so good! Nothing is too much trouble! Great local food is served along with some good local ales. I waited for a few hours running down the clock for an appointment....
