This place looks like it's been closed - I stayed a few months ago and reported them to the health and safety! The place stank, it had stains on the bed clothes, the bed was smelly, smelled of wee, I ended up sleeping on the floor! Be warned..

After a 5 hour drive we looked forward to checking in to our hotel, booked through Booking.com some 2 months prior. However, after arriving slightly aghast by the £5 car wash outside & absence of car park, to find all the shabby vertical blinds closed, except where they were broken. We peered in to what looked like a Victorian orphanage...

Many of the bad reviews on here is because the hotel moved or cancelled your booking. My son booked a twin. Was an error with the online booking system and he ended up with two twin rooms booked in our name. Neither was available!!! Had to share a double which was completely inappropriate. Insisted both rooms were paid for and yet wouldn't let the second room be used "in case they could sell it on". Charged...

A group of us stayed at The Stage Hotel for the Ashes cricket in July 2013, only because their other hotel The New Gables sent us there. Even though we booked at The New Gables 4 months ago, we were notified the day before arriving that there was a double booking and were sent to the Stage Hotel (their partner...

Like many below, I also had 4 rooms booked for Saturday the 6th of July and was called 2 days before my visit to be told that my booking had been cancelled... apparently they had tried to take payment off my card a few days before I arrived (why?!) and it hadn't gone though, since I have had no notification...

Furnishings looked like they had been taken out of a skip, no lightshade, no shower curtain, bath falling to bits....we asked for towels and were told they were "still waiting for them", this was at 4pm, we went out and when we returned there were still no towels. The bed was the worst I have ever slept in .... in...

Myself and several friends had booked several months in advance to stay at the New Gables Hotel for the Ashes Cricket Test Match (a ridiculously busy time for a small city). We had booked this hotel for its affordability, close proximity to the cricket ground and the train station and positive reviews. We received a call the day before we...
