So our experience started from a phone call with Isabelle and we have no complaints. I called to make a change and she asked about our future stay. Although many individual bookings we were a large group of cheerleaders, and she arranged for a good luck message for all guests at revception which then other guests asked us about which was kind. In the rooms the athletes had messages of success and a gift of hot chocolate and biscuits to keep their enegery levels up, such a little things but the kids/athletes loved the attention. the hotel was in a good location, clean, the adjoining Greene king restaurant was nice, good value and tasty.

We stayed in a family room so nothing fancy. It was clean. We didn't order the breakfast as they served it in a box here for a silly price. We stayed 2 nights and ate our own breakfast picnic continental style 1 morning and at the local pub the next.

It was convenient for us, as we were there for a funeral.

If it wasn't for thos next bit I'd have rated this review higher but this really irrated me.
All staff were friendly. We specifically asked our room to be cleaned as we accumulated rubbish, and youngest had an accident at night so 1 bed needed changing. I explained this and that no new towels were needed, just a general clean, cups, bins etc. They knew we were at a funeral, there was a polite comment as we left for the service (we were in black so it was obvious). We left the room so the cleaning could happen. On return, just the bed was done. It was a long teary day for us, we lost our sister, we travelled hours for the funeral, the funeral and gathering after took its toll on us and the kids. We wanted and needed an early night.
I noticed they'd not emptied the bins (including a big bag of rubbish) so left them outside the room to avoid flies, bad odour etc.
At 11.30pm, a staff member knocked continously until i answered the door. No regard that it was really late at night, that it was a family toom which by virtue meant at least 1 child was there, that we were all asleep as it was quiet an he knocked for a few minutes before I woke up, that he woke up the kids, no apology for waking us up, he just wanted to tell me off about putting the bins out and to ask reception next time to empty the bibs. I was fuming. I had done exactly that and it was not my failure. He made a reference to a fire hazard, which it was not as i work in h&s. I was now left with 2 crying children.
Outrageous behaviour and if it wasn't for the other staff being kind, the behaviour of thus 1 person will have resulted in 0 stars. No manners or regards for customer service! Just rude and unnecessary. Will never stay there again. I've told our friends and family too, as they often stay there to visit our mum, but they won't be now either.

From walking into Reception, everywhere felt safe and clean. There is a one way system in place, hand sanitisers available, partitioning screens in Reception.
The room was clean and aired. Exceptional value.
Breakfast was really good too. Table service, as now required, partitions between tables and all of the food was cooked to order. I would highly recommend a stay here. All of the Staff were extremely friendly too.

Arrived early and room was ready so we were able to book in early and relax after a long and tedious journey on the M25 and M1
We checked in with Amy, who was really polite and helpful, she appeared to be on her own and was managing VERY efficiently. We asked for bedding to make up the sofa bed in our room, within minutes she appeared with the bedding and promptly made the bed up, in spite of us offering to do it ourselves. Lovely girl, happy in her job and made us feel nothing was too much trouble, she later gave us extra sugar and milk abiding by covid safety precautions using a plastic glove to pass them to us. Impressive to see this, as we witnessed so many other establishments on our visit with seemingly no regard for Covid precautions at all.
Amy was there again when we came down for breakfast, bright and welcoming as before.
Amy is a real asset to your company.
Thanks Amy x
Breakfast freshly cooked, great staff.

Basic Premier Inn. We were there for 1 night for a football tournament. Place was clean but basic - no plug sockets by the bed or AC in the rooms, room was very hot for 3 of us , a fan had been provided but this was very noisy and combined with the window needing to be open and the road noise none if us slept well at all.
We needed a plug socket by the bed for a medical reason and were told there were no extension leads available but ASDA was just down the road so we could get one there, otherwise we could move the furniture if we wanted.
Only allocated a single key card as no others were available which was inconvenient for us and the reception staff that had to keep running up the stairs to scan us in.
Run on skeleton staffing although the staff we met were friendly, breakfast was very good and the cook was very accommodating.
These hotels used to be cheap and cheerful thesedays they are just about cheerful !
Have paid less for city centre 4 star per night recently. You are paying for the convenience I suppose and for 1 night it did the job but its not a destination hotel!!!

Simply the best

From start to finish, our stay was perfect. We booked 1 night in a family room, with breakfast the next morning so we were close at hand for a 10am family funeral.

Check in was smooth and polite, and the lady on reception could not have been more helpful. She was amazing.

The room was comfortable and clean, the standard you would expect from a Premier Inn. Beds were comfortable, with extra pillows in the room should we choose to use them. There was a cady of extra tea/ coffee bits easily accessibly in reception so you could top up the bits in your room too.

Whilst close to a very busy road, we didnt notice any traffic noise or disturbance, and all slept well.

When we came down for breakfast, we were greeted by the same lovely lady who had checked us in the night before - she remembered our room number without being asked and seated us quickly. Breakfast was lovely - the poached eggs were beautifully done, and my husband said the hash brown was “one of the best I’ve ever eaten”

Unfortunately, in the rush to the funeral, we did leave a couple of items in the room at checkout. We called and spoke to Maria - within 15minutes, she had the missing items located (having contacted her colleagues on housekeeping) and helped us arrange for the items to be collected and returned to us.

Stellar customer service, well presented, clean and tidy rooms, and a lovely breakfast to set us up for an emotionally challenging day.

We have stayed in lots of Premier Inns over the years, unfortunately Nottingham South did not live up to expectations.

The building looks in need of a good overhaul, there is no lift so we had to carry our luggage up two flights of stairs, not good when you have mobility issues.

Our room was a decent size but it was dark, there was a net curtain at the window which was falling down, the view from the window was a really noisy and busy main road. No air conditioning (I usually check before booking, so my own fault) but the room was so hot, opening the small window gave us lots of traffic noise but not much fresh air..the room stayed hot all night despite having a fan, now bearing in mind this is early June and it wasn’t that hot outside I dread to think what it would be like in the height of summer.

No bath mat, but the girl on reception found one for me, no hand towels, the girl said they only had 3, she did let us have 1 of them.

This is a hotel, how can they not have hand towels?

There is no housekeeping it appears, we had a 2 night stay and our room wasn’t cleaned during that time.

The staff were friendly and helpful, it’s not their fault management seems to be lacking.

Parking was good, there seems to be plenty of spaces.

The breakfast was served in the small breakfast room, it was cooked to order and was lovely…

The bed was comfortable, which was just as well as we spent a long time awake both nights due to the heat and the traffic noise.

This is one Premier Inn we won’t be returning to.

Room was hot so had to keep window open, the noise from cars, deliveries and people all through the night didn't give us a good night's sleep. We were rushed at breakfast so had to leave our drinks as table needed. Very rude staff, and no welcome feeling when we arrived. When we left there were two on reception but neither said goodbye when we dropped our key cards in the box right next to them. This was by far the worst Premier Inn we've stayed at and we use Premier Inn all the time all over the country. The breakfasts are not value for money if my partner wants a bacon sandwich for breakfast he's expected to pay as much as someone having a full English Premier Inn needs to sort out its breakfast policy

We stayed overnight at this hotel in a family room. The building Is on the older side and appears tired. Checkin was quick and efficient but not friendly. Room provided was standard double and single bed, bathroom was ok but could have been cleaner. The first thing I noticed was the lack of plug sockets in the room. They were USB sockets by the bed but no plugs. Lamp etc were hard wired into the wall which was strange. The second thing was the heat. It’s October so not hot outside but the room was very hot with limited ways to cool it down. The third thing was how noisy the room was, road traffic on both sides which personally I can deal with, however th pub choosing to through the bottles into a skip at 8 am the next morning three times was jarring. Overall we just needed a place to sleep and it did the job. It’s very much a place to rest your head for a few hours and nothing more. Having said that the breakfast room was better than expected. The gentleman that took our order was very nice and the food was freshly prepared to order. Dinks and continental selection was also good. I would stay here again as it’s in a good location if you want to take the tram into Nottingham but I wouldn’t stay on a hot day as it would be unbearable.
