The 1st danger sign we should have taken notice of was the crying lady sitting on the steps outside and her husband saying ' are you just arriving, good luck '. After getting to the front desk we were told that everyone staying at hotel needs to provide photo ID, which i was unfortunately unaware of and questioned why anyone other than whoever purchased the room would need to do this and offered my bank card or to sign into my online banking as proof of identity, which I was told wasn't acceptable and that there is no flexibility with this rule even for infants ! After having a photo of my passport sent to me by my housemate the very rude girl with grey/black streaks in her hair who i believe was the front desk manager said she couldn't find the 4 emails I had sent her with it attached so I had to traipse around Nottingham trying to find an internet cafe. She did however manage to find my girlfriends email straight away which leads me to believe she was trying to wind me up even more than when gave me the ultimatum of giving refund so we can stay somewhere else. Which is very unprofessional and is no way for a manager to try and resolve a problem. Interestingly whilst I was on this wild goose chase the other half noticed the same situation and lack customer service happen repeatedly. I feel I could easily write an essay on reasons not to stay here but I'm tired after my weekend away because I couldn't sleep on the uncomfortable ancient mattress so hear are some bullet points : That's correct they couldn't even provide the one thing that they are supposed to which is a good nights sleep. : They tried to repeatedly take money from a debit card leading to it being blocked due to suspicious activity. : It is so dirty I refused to use my flannel after dropping it in the sink before rinsing it. : They turn the heating off in the middle of the night. : A double mattress is in fact two single mattresses that refuse to stay together. : I actually got to the point where I slept at other end of the bed as it is marginally more comfortable. : The decor of the hotel especially the bathroom made me feel like I was 5 years old and visiting my Nan's council flat in the 80s. Unfortunately, there were no more hotel space available in Nottingham, so I thought let me see if The Britannia Group have upped their game! NOT!! The hotel is in a state of disrepair, the staff don't seem to be bothered at how they deal with guests. I have no-smoking as a default on all my bookings, but I was put in a stale, smokey room, with screwed shut doors on cupboards, fluff covered air conditioning what ever it was!!The breakfast was a collection of warm 'Rola Cola' unbranded, tasteless fodder. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE.…
The place is filthy, the travel cot they provided was broken and didn't even bother attaching the mattress part to it. We was put in a room right next to the main road so my 15 month old got no sleep as it was noisy none stop and the windows litually blocked none of the noise. Although the staff members was lovely the overall hotel just let them down. Wouldn't stay again…
Absolutely disgusting. Don't believe the website photos, they're not the room you're getting! Dirty, dismal and depressing from entry to exit. Place wants knocking down with miserable staff inside. Avoid.
What a gross hotel - awful reception, old decor, everything peeling or damaged. No soap in the dispenser, beds are uncomfortable and squeeky, windows havent been cleaned in a long time. No food or drink allowed in rooms!?
