My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in a four poster bedroom and had an excellent stay. The food and atmosphere on New Year's Eve were superb and added to a most enjoyable occasion. We particularly enjoyed the venison in juniper berries which was cooked exactly to our individual requirements, and the complimentary champagne helped to welcome in...

Went here with my partner. Had a lovely meal and stay in such a quaint old pub. Warm atmosphere and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be returning. Next time will definitely be longer though.

Great hotel , very warm and friendly , great location - very good service , excellent food ( evening meals and breakfast ) pet friendly. Ideal hotel to visit local villages and towns , and after a cold winters day exploring it's nice to return to a warm real fire place in the hotel bar.

I only stayed over for one night. However as a solo traveller i was made to feel very comfortable and welcome. I had minor problem with my room regarding no heating ,and this was quickly rectified. My meal in the evening was GREAT, homemade tomatoe soup followed by breaded cod and chips. The breakfast in the morning was just as great....

Food very tasty, bar cosy and staff very pleasant. Unfortunately when we stayed there they had trouble with the hot water boiler but our room had a plug in electric heater which helped. According to the first person we saw when we arrived the inn has been sold, not really what you want to hear not long after you've checked...

I stopped here for lunch on my way to the Cheltenham Park Hotel earlier this year. I had a ham sandwich and my daughter had chicken. Around £7 for a sandwich seemed a bit steep but oh boy what a sandwich! Amazing gammon on doorstep white bread with fries and side salad was amazing. My daughters chicken was equally amazing....

Always wanted to stay here in 1980s and now we have. Top notch food, high quality chef with excellent attention to detail and so much better than many so called 'high class' city restaurants. Fish soup and Oysters superb, fluffy goat yoghurt pancakes with yoghurt and fruits scrumpy. Everything fresh and good local produce. Ambiance so lovely. Yes on a...

We chose this inn for its location and unique history. Our family room was comfortable and had character but given the building dates from the 1500's has some issues. Shower was not really up to an acceptable standard, would recommend having a bath! Highlight was the excellent food in the restaurant and choices for breakfast. The quality of the food...

I really enjoyed my stay here. I visit numerous hotels and inns across the year and this place was one of the best. The team were really helpful, food delicious and beds comfy! I had the chicken with bubble and squeak followed by blueberry creme brulee, delicious! The full English with spiced bread pudding was different, but again really good....
