Family of four stopped here after being referred by another Pub/Inn as they had a small family room available for the wife and i and the kids. Stayed for dinner, drinks, and breakfast and enjoyed Chester, the pub's dog, company! We called while in route from York and were fortunate to have the family room available. Room was fine for...

We stayed over on a Saturday night. Our room was a mews room: it was not particularly large but the decor fresh and clean. Facilities on the basic side. Generous toiletries but of cheap quality and some of the dispensers were faulty. Shower room good and a decent size. Tiny TV. Three tatty coathangers. Some of the outside communal areas...

Brilliant English countryside pub/inn experience. Off the beaten track, away from busy/touristy Cotswold villages. Good food, amazing atmosphere. Chester was a highlight. We would suggest dining in the pub. The wines are slightly overpriced but the atmosphere more than makes up.

The setting here is beautiful and The Fox is the epitome of an English country pub. Full marks for allowing dogs in to the bar. I much prefer to dine with a dog lying under the next table than a child standing on the next seat! The food was all right but I wouldn't get too excited about it. I...

We have always driven past the Fox but never been in as it is 12 miles away, but as a first meal with our son & his girlfriend we thought it would be a nice place to go. We arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation so that we could enjoy its setting by the river, on arrival were were...

Had lunch here on Wednesday. Not the most warm greeting from the landlord. We sat outside in the garden and first impressions, oh dear, could do with some attention. The table umbrellas are appalling, old and dirty. It is by the river but with a huge sewer pipe running across to the field. A huge garden with large pond so...

Sunday lunch for a big family - main courses between £12-£22. At this price, I would expect exceptional quality but the roast meat and potatoes were dry, plates were full of peas (cheapest possible veg!), everything underwhelming and overpriced. Friendly service and lovely location on the river, so much potential but the food was such a let down, old fashioned...

Had high hopes of a good lunch as came here some years ago, should have been alerted by the fact that everywhere looked a a bit tired & unloved . Garden looked quite appealing so as a pleasant day decided to sit outside ,so far so good. Very friendly lady behind the bar , acknowledged us straight away even though...
