Service first class. Roast Beef a little on the tough side but quite edible, but! what went wrong with the not so roast, roast potatoes? You can understand that it is not always possible to get everything right but to serve potatoes that were more boiled than roast which did not even have the appearance of having gone anywhere near...

The hotel has a riverside location and easy to walk the very short distance to the shops and centre of Henley. The building is quite charming, a little hodge-pode of buildings together that are very sweet and the public areas are attractively laid out. There is a small residents only parking courtyard. The first room we were offered was very...

Would have been higher as a nice character hotel in a prime location, but for what looks like poor cleaning, especially the shower. (Nicely tiled but a brown grubbiness - tile brush job). Maybe it was simply overdue deep clean in February. That then sensitised to everything else, such as creaky floorboards. Great views across the Thames to the Leander...

Went in for a drink. The person manning the bar, who was "hanging out" at the front desk, was super rude. We asked if there was another bar inside the hotel, seeing that the one there was tiny. The bartender, then said "this is the reception, this is the lobby, this is the dining room and this is the bar"...

We booked for lunch for a special birthday occasion yesterday. We have never been to the Red Lion before, though we are frequent visitors to Henley but as Henley is midway between us all, it was the obvious place for a special occasion. There were 10 of us in the party and the hotel suggested that we booked the Riverside...

I stayed here for a friend's birthday and the event, held in a downstairs room, went really well. Great service and lovely room. I stayed with a friend in a "twin" overnight. The best I can say about the room was that it was spacious, overlooking the river so great views, and the beds were clean and comfortable - for...

Nestled in between the, elegant, Georgian, Henley Bridge and the quite splendid C of E Church of the Virgin Mary with origins back to the 16th Century, is the delightfully quixotic elegantly old and friendly coaching Inn, the Red Lion. I have had the great pleasure of staying here from time to time over the last forty years or so...

I've always loved the location of this hotel - right by Henley bridge, by the River Thames and a short walk from the quaint Town Centre. I chose to treat myself and stay at the Red Lion Hotel for one night to fit in with parties on both Saturday night and Sunday lunchtime nearby. My booking was quick and easy....

I visited Henley on Thames this January with my boyfriend and his family. We stopped in to have a cup of tea. I tried a cream tea for the first time ever and it was amazing. Would definitely come back!

We stayed at the Red Lion for three nights in Late December. It is an amazing hotel with a wonderful history. The facilities are great with a dining room and bar. We booked a standard room but were upgraded to a large one overlooking the river. It had the most amazing furnishings, was roomy and very comfortable. The only negative...
