I have been coming to the Old Parsonage for a few years, but this is my first visit since the refurbishment. The food was excellent, the service was brilliant, the atmosphere was as sumptuous as ever and the overall experience is one of, if not, the best, in Oxford.

Our return visit there, after a much awaited for reopening, proved somewhat of a disappointment. The restaurant is still elegant and beautifully decorated with period oil paintings and a burning fireplace. There is also a lovely, smaller room to the side for more intimate dining or private parties. We started with cocktails from the bar, which were nicely prepared. The...

We are used to paying £300 plus a night in five star boutique hotels but in comparison we felt the OP was over priced at £370 for a deluxe double room (excluding breakfast) and offers nothing special to warrant the inflated price, despite being in expensive Oxford within easy walking distance of the heart of the city. Having said this,...

The room was quite expensive, but our stay here was worth every penny, in my opinion. very helpful and friendly staff, beautiful and modern room, ours had a little balcony, which was a bonus. we did not have dinner here, but breakfast was excellent. and we had some snacks and drinks in the walled garden at the front, which is...

Loved this hotel. Much to my delight, modern rooms. I don't care if it is a five star hotel if it is old they still have dirty grout! I stayed up way too late at night reading from the fabulous books in the library. We enjoyed our personal walking tour with a delightful french girl arranged by the front desk....

We stayed two nights at this hotel as part of a wedding group. There were no special rates and I feel it was way over-priced for what you get. Yes, it is pretty and within walking distance of most of the places of interest and the colleges, and the entrance is quaint and charming, but I have stayed at far...

Lovely little old stone hotel covered in ancient wisteria vines . We loved the old doors, stone fireplace, outside patios, slate roof. The staff were exceptionally courteous, helpful and professional, Food was very good. The location is perfect. Personally I was quite put off by the modern decor in the room. The purple and red striped headboard and very modern...

We had 7 rooms for two nights, including the bridal suite for the second night. The total cost was over £4300 (about $6900) including breakfast and local tax but excluding other food or beverages (charged separately). Our overall impression was of poor value. For example: our room costing £275 (=$440) per night did not have a tub, nor even a...

We are disappointed to learn that you felt you had received poor value for money. We pride ourselves on being a luxury boutique hotel, in an historic building. Our rooms vary in size but have all been recently refurbished to the same high standard. Linen robes are provided for all guests; they hang on the back of the bathroom door....

Stayed for two night with my teaching partner + 10 of our students. I don't think I have ever experienced such qualified and pleasant service anywhere. You instantly get the feeling of being in some big family's living room. The hotel is tiny but uses every square inch extremely well. The hotel has just undergone a major renovation which seem...

This is a delightful old hotel, but the interior with all the new grey decor is a little charmless for my taste. However, in the new style of stark minimalism, there is no faulting the taste of the decor. No iron or board in the room had staff scrabbling to locate one for me ( they did!), and I would...
