Lovely hotel and wouldn't hesitate to visit again Most importantly a problem we had was dealt with by the manager who was clearly concerned there had been an issue with the quality of some of our food. He dealt with matters in an exemplary way and I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel or to visit again Room rate...

We recently stayed at the Old Bank for our Anniversary and to say the least the customer service could not have been better. From the moment we checked in we felt really special, nothing was too much trouble and all of the staff seemed very happy to be working there. The room was very clean, comfortable and had some really...

In late February we decided to leave London for three days to explore Oxford. An hour by train from Paddington and a walkable town for all ages upon arrival. We found Oxford a fun mix of academic buzz and Harry Potter sets. Our younger ones found the city exciting and a fun place to play. We found it a nice...

This is a well run hotel, good informative, friendly staff. Colour schemes and art works help to transform this old building into a tasteful, boutique hotel. Car park at rear is a big plus. There is a bubbly sence of enthusiasm amoungst the staff which ensures a good welcome.

I stayed at the Old Bank earlier in the year on a business trip and it was a pleasant experience. The staff were welcoming and attentive. However, I and a colleague decided to return and we booked weeks in advance. Two days prior to our arrival the hotel sent an email advising of the historic May Day celebrations that would...

Thanks so much for your review I'm so sorry you feel aggrieved. To be honest May Day does not tend to be overly disruptive to our guests so while we do warn our guests that it is happening we don't expect there to be much of an issue. Mainly we want to alert guests to an alternate route for arrival...

We recently booked a weekend break at this city hotel right in the heart of Oxford. We were impressed by the professionalism and courtesy shown by all the staff throughout our stay as well as the well equipped rooms and standard of décor. We had included breakfast in our package and on both mornings, the food and service was excellent....

Thanks for your review Glad you enjoyed your stay on the whole. So sorry you were not impressed with our restaurant. Perhaps you can try Gee's or The Old Parsonage next time. Looking forward to seeing you. Ben Truesdale

The Old Bank is an interesting building and the check in and welcome were good. However, the room I was allocated was overpriced (almost twice the price of the neighbouring Mercure). Nothing worked! There was no trouser press, no iron and board and the TV is at right angles to the bed. The tea making supplies aren't on a tray...

The rooms are large, comfortable and well equipped. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent and good value. Fee WiFi worked well. The location is perfect for an Oxford visit, and very close to Heathrow airport/ London coach stops. Only snag was we stayed in a room facing the High Street, and it was very noisy (despite...

Thanks so much for your review It's good to hear you enjoyed on the whole. The front facing rooms tend to be a little bigger with views but are not as quiet as rear facing rooms. I'll do my best to assign a rear facing room next time. Thanks once again. Ben Truesdale
