We were on the oxford open top bus tour and stopped outside the hotel. We are both big Morse fans, so we went in for a coffee. It was not what we expected from a five star hotel. We had a coffee in a lounge that looked out to the museum opposite. The room smelled musty and looked tired. There...

Macdonald Randolph Hotel is a grand building in a central location. However we did not have a 5-star experience. Our Classic Double room (204) was very disappointing. Very small and over furnished. There was insufficient space to properly open the wardrobe door, the entrance to the bathroom was partly obstructed by a chair and a wall mounted tv took up...

We stayed on Saturday night and once again everything was excellent from the room to the service with a special mention to Shaun who always goes the extra mile to ensure a memorable stay. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice.

We spent 2 nights here to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We're 2 middle aged, semi-retired Morse fans - so it had to be done! The hotel is full of character, is well appointed and is in a great central location for tourists. In the main, it lived up to our expectations. The Morse bar is a cool - if...

Check-in was through a garage and in a shabby side room, as the foyer was being painted. Not enough staff on reception to cope and no concierge service available so I had to take up my own suitcase. Room (supposedly a classic double) was small and cramped - even for one thin person. Very noisy - the hotel is at...

So, my third time to stay at this hotel as part of a conference- although a different company and for only one night this time. There were works going on and so check in and reception was moved. An extremely long time to check in although they must have known they had the number of guests they had... And also...

We have just returned from a night in the Randolph. It deserves its 5 stars. The concierge are more than helpful, the valet parking just 'appears' and the check in was very smooth. Our room was beautiful - just a standard double. The turn down service in the evening is a nice touch. I think every member of staff was...

Stayed here on the evening of the 12th March. Not having a credit card, I handed over my debit card when I checked in, I was told that a charge of £200 would be made upfront. No problem so far. What I didn't realise is that when I checked out, the real charge of my room £160 was also made....

The classic landmark hotel in central Oxford, surrounded by ancient and world-famous (for an academic, at least) institutions, with the old world feel intact and cherished. Can't think of anywhere else to stay when in Oxford. But while it is comforting to know that you can have a perfect Dry Martini in the oak-paneled Morse Bar, sharing a tiny double...
