Unfortunately, this hotel fell way below standards. The smell coming out of the air conditioning but also around the hotel was very bad, and the rooms had not been cleaned properly, with lots of stains and marks on the upholstery and in the bathroom. In the bathroom, the plug for the bath did not work. The rooms were not soundproofed at all and possibly the worst sound insulation I’ve experienced at a hotel. Our room was situated on the high street, so it was rather noisy as the windows are not insulated at all and are very old. Overall, a poor experience. Not awful, but disappointing, and definitely poor value for money.

The accommodation is central, near all the main attractions and shops in Oxford center, very close to the botanical garden too. The rooms are very clean and the staff is really polite and helpful. Ideal for a short trip in the city.

A few of us stayed in the Mercure due to working away, the hotel staff were so lovely and accommodating of us working unusual times and often getting back late and still providing an evening meal, I will definitely stay again! Amazing location 5*

I stayed at the Mercure for one night in March 2021 during the Covid pandemic and was extremely impressed. The hotel is spotlessly clean, check in is efficient and informative. Food and drinks brought to the room and the food was excellent. The hotel is perfectly situated for the city centre and colleges. Would definitely stay again
