I traveled with my college age son who would be studying a semester at Oxford University, and stayed 4 nights at Burlington House. It is a very welcoming place with lots of character, very clean updated rooms, great bathrooms, and very comfortable mattresses. The breakfasts are delicious, cooked to order, with very good coffee. The location is very good for...

Booking a last minute get away break with my husband, it was very plesant to find a gem like Burlington House. While the rooms are perfectly acceptable, it is actually Nes who makes this place a joy to stay at. Service with a smile seems to be the motto here, nothing seems to be too much trouble. I would more...

Nes gave us a warm welcome on arrival and the place was outstanding. Perfectly situated for bus rides (or walk, we did and it took 25 mins) into the centre of Oxford, the hotel was perfect in every way. The guest house is in Summertown, so is 5 mins walk from Italian, Indian, Labanese and English food; or you can...

Three Japanese friends and myself recently stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. We were warmly welcomed and given a useful explanation of the local area including restaurants, transportation and so on. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well appointed. The first night we walked to the nearby Summertown district for an evening meal and the second evening we...

The booking and enquiry process on the 'phone was effortless with all of our questions about rooms and tariffs answered precisely and efficiently by Nes the Manager. As a result of the helpful service, checking other reviews on TA and the availability...

What a lovely hotel. We were greeted by the proprieter who offered a glass of orange juice, and carried our bag to our room. The room was nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and had a good wet room. We were told the hotel was pretty much full, yet we did not have any disturbances. T he bus which takes you to...

This is really well situated for Oxford town centre with nice places to eat within walking distance. The manager is really helpful and efficient. Breakfast was excellent- home made granola, yoghurt and local meats etc. A good find.

Burlington House is perfectly pleasant, but by no means deserving of five stars. We stayed in the queen room, as no kings were available, and were surprised to find it rather cramped and (far worse) with mildew around the shower room window and ceiling. There were also a few rather disappointing rules: you must check in by seven, breakfast finishes...
