Ten of us middle aged friends meet in Oxford for a meal together about three times a year. The bare requirement is that the restaurant/pub can accommodate a wheelchair, serves good draught beer and has vegetarian options. Our table was set up and we looked at the menu which was on the expensive side but sounded interesting. Two courses were...

Hi Femaleretiree, Thanks for leaving your review. I am really sorry you had such a poor experience. There is no excuse or reason for your food to have been such a standard. I have spoken with the kitchen and passed on yourt feedback, it is a shame that you have missed the usual very high standards that our kitchen presents....

On a cold day in Oxford we turned up in a packed pub looking for lunch. The staff were very helpful and found an extra table and chairs to accommodate us. There was a lovely log fire and friendly atmosphere. Lunch was excellent and service efficient, even though the pub was very busy. The locally made sausages with mashed potato,...

So me, my husband and our friend hired ourselves a mini bus for a day trip to Oxford....what fun! After having a lovely walk around the park we worked up a fair appetite and were on a mission to find a nice traditional pub. We had set our expectations high, wanting mulled wine, an open log fire, a roast and...

Nice spacy rooms, very good included breakfast choices (prepared warm dishes, not only buffet), very friendly employees. And most important: only a 5 min walk to the city center. Definitely recommendable!

Quilt on the bed to thick even though it was cold. Turned all the heating off in the room because it was encomfortably hot. The staff very friendly and obliging. The bedroom was very clean and fresh looking. The TV wanted updating with the channels as all free view was not available. Staff said they would look into it on...

Hi Treana, Thanks for taking the time to leave your review. I am sorry you found the temperature too hot, our radiators are adjustable and sometimes they do get turned too high. I will check your room and make some changes. Thanks for your comments on the staff, they work really hard to make your visit special. This includes our...

We escaped the awful weather into this lovely pub, which has a fantastic location and lovely staff. We were looking forward to a treat meal as we were celebrating my friends birthday, and were encouraged by the huge portions of fish and chips that we saw be served. When we came to order, however, we were told that the kitchen...

Hi Ruth, Thanks for leaving your review. I am really sorry you didn't have a great dining experience with us. In general most people find our portions to be quite generous, I will speak with the chef and enquire as to what has gone wrong on this occasion. If it is ok I will make direct contact to let you...

Comfortable room, good service, decent breakfast. Stayed here as it was convenient for a business trip. They accommodated my late arrival without any issues. Not perfect but good enough and has some character.

Decent and cosy hostel, great location. The staff are very friendly, rooms clean. If possible, try to stay at the back/river view, not front. The pub downstairs offers cheap and good food, which is great when you come back tired and don't want to go out.

It's said to be one of the oldest establishments of Oxford. The interior looks really cosy and nice!! Too bad we were too many so they placed us at the entrance for groups. All the dishes my colleagues ate looked nice and tasty, well proportioned, unfortunately, my fish and chips was quiet disappointing.

Hey Ashley, Thanks the review. Sorry to hear about your fish and chips, I've had a chat with the chef but unfortunately I don't really have a good answer as to why yours wasn't our usual high standard. It is one of most popular options, again, apologies we missed you this time. We still get super busy, even at this...
