It is one of the nicer hostels I have seen so far. The common area well as the rooms are well-kept and clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. I can definitely recommend the (very typical English) breakfast they serve. The location of the hostel...More

Thanks for the review of the hostel - your feedback is much appreciated.
We're glad that you had a good stay and found our location so convenient. Yep, you're right about the bathrooms - at some point in the future YHA Oxford will be modernised...More
It's a hostel. If a hostel is fairly clean, I'll be fine with it. And the 6 bed female dorm room I stayed in at YHA Oxford was much cleaner and more comfortable than I expected. I actually slept fairly well, which is often hard...More

We stayed in a private room for two with a private shower. The friendly receptionist helped us with our luggages to our room & they also let us access to the lounge room even after we’ve already checked out. Breakfast was good too, we were...More

Great to hear that you were satisfied with your stay. We do try our very best to ensure everyone has a great visit to the hostel and we're happy to help with bags and do anything else we can to achieve this.
Thanks so much...More
In my reservation for a quadruple room, it was not written that towels were not included, so obviously I supposed they were. When we arrived there, the receptionists told me I had to pay 2 pounds for each towel!! I showed her my voucher (from...More

We're really very sorry to read that our not including towels with the rooms caused you so much disappointment and spoilt your stay so much.
I can assure you that the last thing that we are trying to be is dishonest in any way.

We have had guests occasionally store bikes in their private rooms that they want to be closer to rather than leaving them outside the building. This would only be suitable in a private room.
Couple of things to note - we don't have a lift, so a bike would need to be carefully carried upstairs; whilst our rooms are spacious they don't tend to have empty walls to prop bikes against, so certainly any number of bikes would be a little awkward.

Thanks for the query. We've had around 20 bikes in our bike shed on occasions when cycling parties visit, but it's usually much quieter than this. There are bars set in the concrete which you can use to attach locks to - you can fit 12 bikes directly locked on to these.
Hope this info helps.

There is some restricted street parking close to the hostel, which may be useful depending on what days of the week you're staying and how long you need to park for. This is limited to 2hours during the daytime but is unrestricted between 18:30 and 08:30 each night and all day on Sunday.
For longer term parking we'd recommend using the Park & Ride. The closest to the hostel is Seacourt, by the western park of the ring-road. It's a 15 minute walk from that car park or a short bus ride. There is always space to drop-off outside the hostel, so it's possible to drive down and leave luggage etc rather than carry these on the buses.
There are city centre car parks, but these charge much, much more than the park and ride and can get very busy.
I hope that this answers your questions, but please do not hesitate to ask for more information.
