We called in for lunch only. The quality of the food and the service were excellent. Our waiter, Jay, was professional yet friendly and efficient. A much better place to go than most chain restuarants in Oxford.

Whether you like this hotel or not obviously depends on what is important to you, so here are the pros and cons from our visit: Good things: The hotel is a beautiful period property, with high ceilings and Georgian windows. It is slap bang in the centre of town and is a very brief walk to the shops, colleges, restaurants...

The hotel is in a great location (in the middle of it all, but down a side street so there is no street noise). the hotel staff are nice, the rooms are a bit on the small size with a lovely bathroom and double paned windows to keep out external noise. However this being I assume converted houses, you hear...

We spent one night at the Vanbrugh Hotel, the service was excellent, our room was very nice, and food we had for breakfast was excellent! We would highly recommend the Vanbrugh Hotel ! Only issue was parking, which we found about 3 blocks away.

My family and I stayed there for my graduation. The hotel is centrally located in Oxford city center and the rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. The breakfast was hot and filling and the staff were attentive to my requests.

This is a lovely old building (you can tell the age by the slope of the floors in the corridors and bedroom!) in the heart of Oxford, just off the pedestrianized shopping street. I was thoughtfully given a back room on the top floor to avoid any noise disturbance from late-night revellers on the street but, unfortunately, there was a...

The hotel is very centrally located and within walking distance to all major restaurants and shopping. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and courteous and made the effort to go the extra yard to make the stay very pleasant

This Hotel is right in the centre of Oxford so it's location is perfect for a chilly November Break. It is clean and cosy with excellent breakfast options. The only thing it lacks is a bar for the evenings which had there been one we would have used after busy days of site seeing.

Stayed one night whilst visiting my daughter. Receptionist was friendly and accommodating, when asked if we could check in earlier than expected and leave our luggage, whilst we went shopping. The same on departure. No problem. Room /general decor tastefully done. Traditional but with contemporary twists. I had made a late booking directly with the hotel as I wanted to...
