We had to postpone our original booking from last December as the gig we had travelled to Oxford to see had rescheduled to January. Thanks Hozier, it was worth the wait! Despite the Hotels 'no cancellation no refund' policy, they were most understanding and thankfully accomodated us. Two super quality rooms, easy walk into town, and great breakfast....... many thanks.

The Lakeside Guesthouse is a nice place to stay and just a five-minute bus ride to downtown Oxford. I only gave it an average rating, however, because it was overpriced at 130 pounds per night (double + child). For 100 pounds, I would have given it four stars. The room was nicely appointed, but the bathroom smelled mildewy (so we... More

Hosts Daniela and Martin were an absolute delight- very helpful and tentative during our stay. The room was great - the bed was super comfy and the shower was nice and powerful. The breakfast was very tasty indeed! Great location and easy access into Oxford town. Highly recommend to all.

We stayed here on a Saturday night while in Oxford to see a show. On arrival our twin room was upgraded to a double room as there had been a cancellation. We were able to look at both the rooms before deciding to switch to the double - both rooms were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was apart... More

Rooms are well appointed and extremely clean. Breakfasts are excellent too. Staff friendly. Only 15 mins away from city centre. Wifi offered however sometimes intermittent. Really good base to explore Oxford

A lovely period property with all the mod cons you could ask for. Great hospitality, comfy bed and a beautiful breakfast. Short stroll into Oxford. Would recommend the Lakeside to anyone looking for boutique/classy accommodation in Oxford.

We stayed for two nights and were delighted with our accommodation. Not a huge room but it had everything we could possibly want. The bathroom was so spotlessly clean I felt like we were the first people to use it! The bed was comfortable, the windows covered by not only wooden shutters but curtains as well, so we could block... More

10 minute walk into the centre of oxford or a bus stop right outside for only £1 per trip. Great B&B, good choice of breakfast, the room was small but well equipped and clean and exactly what was needed. Well recommended and would visit again. Ensure a visit to Blenheim palace is on the agenda if you visit oxford

Our accommodation [three nights] was clean, comfortable, and very nicely appointed. The room was bright with good illumination both day and night. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. For mobility reasons, I had requested a ground floor unit and that was ready for us on our arrival. Lakeside Guest House provides easy entrance with four steps. If... More

We booked this guest house mainly because there was parking and it was an easy walk into Oxford. We couldn't believe our luck when we arrived and saw our room ! The room was light and bright. The decor was gorgeous, lovely little cabinets, cushions and furnishings. The whole room was matched, not a hotchpotch of different bits and pieces.... More
