The building has a lovely cosy feel, it is a large building with a few different rooms. The car park is very big. The menu had a fairly broad variety - my friend had a burger and said it was the best burger he'd ever had! I had a turkey and mushroom pie which was absolutely delicious and very filling....

Visited recently to celebrate some good family news! We had a sharing starter for main, the fish and chip deal and a spicy pork burger. The food was okay nothing too special, fish was like something you'd get from the fish shop tasted nice but not worth the price. My dad said the burger wasn't very spicy and quite bland....

Saw this place when driving out of Sheffield and decided to stop there for lunch. We were not disappointed. Catered well for my vegetarian daughter. The fish and chips was delicious, and even the smaller portion was generous. Beautifully presented and delicious chocolate pudding, and I was pleased to see they served truffles as a dessert, which is just enough...

Four of us went for afternoon tea after 2 of us had had an excellent meal here and we weren't disappointed. 2 of the people are diabetic and the staff catered to their needs excellently and without complaint. The selection offered was very good. We are going to try Sunday lunch there soon

We met at this pub as a family of 8. We were seated in a lovely room with table set out so that we all sit round together. The food was excellent. Five of us had Sunday roast, generous portion of meat, roast potatoes, lovely creamy mash and the biggest Yorkshire puddings ever!! Our party also had meat pie of...

We visited this pub with our family today and didn't have a decent lunch between five of us. The 'Ribeye' steak was tough and nowhere near a ribeye and the cut was hard to identify. The fish and chips was served with fish coated in thick soggy batter and the chips were hard, possibly reheated from yesterday. The fish finger...

On a recent trip visiting family we went to The Cross Scythes for drinks and a meal. We had pre-booked a table, but on the night we visited this was not really necessary. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was good and we had no complaints, but it wasn't particularly cheap for what was essentially pub grub. There was...

This our second stay here but we forgot to leave a review last time. Second time just as lovely. Beautiful room with beams, very cosy and comfortable. (Last year we even had a balcony/terrace!) The £8 breakfast was delicious. We also ate in the restaurant the night before and the meal was lovely. The service throughout was exceptional - staff...

The food is nothing to shout about, especially when the bill arrives. Went on a Sunday evening for a quick bite to eat, had a couple of starters and mains with two drinks. It's still a pub and you should get change from £50. Far from it. The atmosphere isn't exactly buzzing and with the competition around the location I'm...

Having attended a funeral there we chose this venue for my aunts birthday meal. The quality is excellent however it was a poor show for a plough mans lunch- 2 slithers of tasteless cheese, 1 slither of pulled ham, 3 slithers of apple, 1 slice of crusty bread a scotch egg ( delicious) accompanied by a tablespoon of coleslaw and...
