I was booked into this hotel by friends of mine who live in Sheffield that I was visiting for the weekend. I saw the other reviews before I went and was concerned but due to the location I decided to stick with the booking and I have to say I completely disagree with the other reviewers. I received a warm...

I've travelled to Sheffield a number of times and only ever stayed in the larger, chain hotels. Unfortunately on my last visit I had real problems booking into any of my usual haunts, and ended up at the Westbourne. I have to say that I'd normally avoid a small, privately owned hotel but after enjoying Sue and Nick's hospitality I'll...

Our experience was pretty much the same as the previous three! While the room was pleasant enough, it certainly wasn't worth the price you pay. We stayed five nights and were given one tiny bar of soap to last the whole time we were there. The food was average (below average if you are a vegetarian). Nick was pleasant, though...

I stayed in the hotel one week when attending a conference in Sheffield. I had informed the owners about the dates when I arrive and when I leave by e-mail. As I was leaving, it turned out that the landlady had maken a mistake and expected me to leave only on the next day. Even though it was her mistake...

We didn't like this place at all. It definitely seemed it was run for the convenience of the owners rather than the guests - having to order what you wanted for breakfast the night before, not being able to use the ground floor toilet near the breakfast room because it was for staff only. The rooms were fine but expensive...

My wife and I stayed there for 2 nights. The westboune house hotel is homely but some times to its own detriment. You have to notify before 8am for checkout etc. I felt that we were intruding on some ones house at some point. The owners were not friendly. Sue was particularly under the weather/miserable when we were there. We...

This is a small hotel very close to the university. The city centre is a couple of miles away but a taxi can get you there very quickly and inexpensively. Rooms are basic but are a reasonable size. Car parking can be awkward if arriving at busy times (the hotel car park is very small) and overall I felt it...

We stayed here last summer for work and friends and family have used it since. Its clean and comfortable and good value. Its also in a nice part of town. The present owener have it up for sale at the moment so things may change once there are new owners.
